bullfight

I would never be able to watch a public spectacle such as a bullfight but I could look at the artwork of Jean Cocteau every day.  Look at the expression on the bullfighter's face, he looks as though he is sad over what has just taken place.  The bull in fact looks sad too, head down and ready to surrender.

During the month of May, I will be fighting my own sort of bull and working on a painting a day which I will post.  I was inspired by fellow River Towns Artist, Jennifer Orkin Lewis.  It's hard to fathom that we are about to close the door to April and welcome the month of May.

Good morning Patricia...I agree with you about not watching the bullfights but I have been re-reading Ernest Hemingway and he can paint a picture of bullfighting with his words almost as well as Cocteau did with his paintbrush!

Good luck with your task ahead! And, enjoy this last day of April!

I've tried a painting a day challenge before. It doesn't work so well with big oil paintings! Good luck, and happy May.

When I was a kid my grandmother once showed us a film she took in Spain of a bullfight, I was traumatized by it.. so sad. I wish you much luck on your challenge. I know you can do it!
