Finished up some work for Sheridan Road Magazine and am excited to see it in the actual magazine. (SR at home is based in the midwest, in Chicago - one of my favorite cities!)

How fun to have a family memory of attending one of the Olympic events, all dressed in red, white and blue. This illustration was done as part of a series of memories. Dining al fresco during the summer months is special. Do you dine or enjoy picnics in the fresh air? Take time to have your lunch outside and cherish the day.

weekend shopping

Love to escape for a "shopping" weekend. How about Nantucket?

I love Islands or streets where shops are unique.

Places that have one of a kind or mom-n-pop shops.

Do you shop when you are away and purchase items that will bring back memories of a place and time?

What sorts of shopping will you be doing this weekend?

I plan to shop our farmers market and stock up on fresh fruits and veggies and make some gazpacho soup!

....and the winner is "A Gift Wrapped Life"

Firstly, the "potager garden artwork" that I posted yesterday goes to the randomly selected winner- "A gift wrapped life" - most deservedly so, since this summer, her garden has been demolished by a street wide debacle, otherwise known as construction.

Perhaps a wheelbarrow of freshly laundered faded florals to lay down in the grass with the one you love.  A picnic basket of some fresh strawberries, fromage, a crusty bit of bread and a little wine....

and then after you wake up from an afternoon dream, you could skinny dip here...

or you could just unwrap all those glorious boxes that Sande tempts us with!

Congrats to Sande and I now have the challenge of wrapping my framed work of art to send to a wrapper extraordinaire!
