monday motivation -hand made tea lights give-away

I have a passion for hand made things.  I love to support small artisans who use their hands to create and make good quality as well as useful items.  One etsy seller who I admire happens to be Michael Nell from the Green Candle co.  Today, I am happy to share with one of you a box of 100% beeswax hand made tea lights.  These are perfect for your Jack-O-Lantern or for your table.
 These tea lights make wonderful gifts.  Michael says;

I pour these tea light candles from wax obtained from commercial honey producers in the Southern California High Desert. The wax is naturally colored and has the mild fragrance of honey.

These tea light candles are poured in recyclable polycarbonate shells that let the warm glow if the candle flame shine through. They burn for about 4 hours in optimal conditions, (see below), and give a lovely, gentle light that contributes a sense of warmth and intimacy in any setting.

It is said by some that burning beeswax candles is more healthy than burning petroleum wax candles as the beeswax produces less harmful products of combustion. It is also said that burning beeswax candles produces negative ions in the air for a cleaner, healthier environment.
Visit the Green Candle shop and tell me which is your favorite candle.  You may see something you like there too - Michael would be happy to ship candles to your door.  Leave a comment and wednesday morning I will be back to announce the winner.  Happy Monday.

If you create something artisanal with your hands, I would love to share your hand made items with my readers.  Please feel free to contact me.

manhattan love

Although I came to the city many years ago, my love for Manhattan runs deep, and it is hard to put it in words but these items might help.   I thought a little Manhattan love was appropriate today.
 Especially of lower Manhattan.
It's true, I love you from here to New York.
All of you and all of those that love Manhattan too.
Take a moment today and think of New York.
It was ten -no, make that eleven years ago, September 11th.
We are strong and still in love with our city.
I love New York.

wee three

All I can envision
are these wee three bowls
bearing gifts from afar - found over here on etsy.
The wise men surely must have had something with flair like these vessels.
Thanks for all your kind comments - My son is resting although he is a bit cranky.
I am trying to be like a wise woman (and mother) and bear little gifts from afar.

I wish I had these bowls to bear gifts.
Did I mention, I am starting now for next Christmas.

Life is always better with wee little wise gifts.

zigzag

I could spend an innordinate amount of time "zigzagging" on etsy. I must admit, I love shopping on etsy and enjoy supporting fellow bloggers too. Pam over at Pixelimpress personalized these cute cheveron note cards that I ordered.
You can order the notes simply chevroned without personalization.
Love the bright yellow envelope.
Hop on over or zigzag there to leave a comment and take a look around. Thanks Pam, love the notes and the cheery colored envelopes!

four-eyes

Perfect Autumn ensemble by pop pop portraits - found on etsy ( she looks like me)
My husband gave me the thumbs up on a new pair of glasses, well not the style, but the fact that we have money in the eye-glass department. So off I go for a new pair of spectacles.
Mis-match lady (Primary colors) found on etsy at pop pop portraits
Is it me, or do larger glasses look good again. I have had wire, tortoise, black, cat-eye, librarian, square, round, and now I am sort of excited by going a bit larger. Anybody out there have a favorite brand or frame of the moment. I found these ladies over here.
Glasses are just another accessory to me.

sugar

Truly, the month of December already seems a little sweeter with all the wonderful cookies around. These came from over here.
(sweetness from etsy)
Bear hugs are sweet too.
My Dad loves to say "Give me some sugar, Sugar" which means a hug.
Congrats to this sweet lady "Emily" who won the Jess LC Necklace. She selected gold. Emily has been an avid blog reader and commenter. Hope this makes your day sweeter Emily!
Emily actually lives just outside Chicago, so I am in hopes she can meet JessLC to get her gold necklace!

(Winner selected via Random number generator)
Just this morning, I was awarded The Fabulous Sugar Doll blogger award. Thanks to these chic ladies for such an honorable award. Back later with my acceptance speech.

neat eats

Over the weekend a sweet box arrived with some items I ordered from Rachel over at "Heart of Light" - I am in love with my new weekly meal plan. I had some custom made too. Monday is the day I plan the weekly menu.
I could not resist these cloth napkins. Who needs to waste paper when these will be our daily napkins for wiping our chinny chin chins and making whatever we eat ever so neat!
