On my calendar this week is a myriad of mature tasks along with my birthday.

I am thinking a slide might be a nice gift to keep youth alive.

My sister sent me this painting that she painted. She had to paint it quickly and was pleased with the results that she captured "honest Abe." I love the tonality and the simplicity.

Love the look of this office and working with so much happy light.

I know artists are traditionally supposed to love Northern light and cast shadows, but my new studio will have lots of big windows and happy natural light. As our clocks will spring ahead this weekend and our days will be full of light I am motivated by that, by the happy light.

monday mojo series 1

Welcome monday morning motivator Kayce Hughes. Kayce, thanks for your great tips.

We all need a little inspiration on Monday for a little mojo charm.

Motivation;

It feels a little funny to speak about Motivation when I often find myself longing for it.

For me a deadline is a great motivator but I am trying to be better about not waiting until the last minute.

Looking at beautiful things usually helps get me in the mood to be productive. If I am in a cooking rut I carve out some time to look through one of my many cookbooks. For exercise I do best if I have to schedule a class ahead of time. When it comes to cleaning and organizing the house looking through one of my favorite decorating books usually helps. This one almost always puts me in the mood to organize.

When all else fails a coke or cappuccino usually do the trick.

I added the images and just could not resist the tray with the Corona bottles.

How pretty this tray is to win and to serve a coke or cappucino or to organize a desk.

weekend rest

part of the joy of the weekend is waking up rested and refreshed

not having any place to rush off too and not worried about having to make the bed.

the "messy" bed look is after all in fashion.

feeling restored and rejuvenated after sleeping on fresh linens.

love to have this stack.

There is nothing better than a good rest and freshly folded linens

Rest and nourishment always restores my energy for life.

fresh carrot orange seems to be pulling me and my eyes over.

and these stylish things that are orange.

A carrot orange sofa would certainly add a dash of freshness.

We all need carrots to drive us to our goals. Back from my local market and picked up a bunch of fresh carrots and thought how even the orange color seems so inspiring.

Meeting goals and deadlines do require discipline and motivation, do you hold some sort of carrot as a reward upon completion?

Each of us find that within us lies a superhero...or a season,

crucial to inspire or lead us ahead.

The cape of Winter still shrouds us here, not even a glimmer of Spring and all I want is to cloak myself in Summer.

In spite of the cold day, all I can think of is Summer.

Summer blue skies, flags flapping, bright beautiful boats, open-toe sandals, swimming, sunscreen smells and music filling the open air and shrills of delight as the twinkling of the Ice Cream truck drives nearby.

I want to be that elegant lady in the sunny yellow dress having a passion sorbet cruising or holding a sparkler!
