low country

If you have ever been to Kiawah island, some refer to it as "low country" and I just love the laid back charm of living on the down and low. The beaches there are pretty and the shopping is sweet. Life is better with a little bit of low hanging fruit. I wonder if there are any coconuts in that tree? Have you ever been to Kiawah?

I have been to Edisto Beach which is close and this reminds me of being there. Ice cream cones, dogs, kids and the smell of the ocean breeze. Lovely artwork.

My parents used to have a house on Kiawah. They sold it about 12 years ago and bought one on the Isle of Palms. Closer to Charleston, but not as pretty, I don't think!

Indeed I have!! I used to live in Charleston, SC and worked as a muralist during my time there. I have worked in several homes on Kiawah. Absolutely gorgeous area of SC:) Beautiful artwork, captures the essence of Kiawah!

Actually, I'm quite near there at this very moment. On Palmetto Bluff for a few days of writing and dreaming. Moss on the trees, long walks, and perfect weather. Do I have to come home??

Have a good Mother's Day and hug those children of yours tight. And if you're in Kiawah, enjoy!
