garden path

My first May painting a day.  A spring garden path meandering down a hill to an open field.  I could pick this apart and point out all the reasons to start a new painting but alas, part of my nudge is in fact to paint each day and allow the looseness of this exercise allow me to be less critical and just do the work.

I had such a wonderful afternoon yesterday at the MET, visiting the Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity exhibit. The one thing that amazed me most was the looseness the artists achieved by painting outside.  I am off to work now for a client today but did want to share this work with you on this glorious day.

It's a beautiful painting! Lovely and fresh looking. We all need to be less critical...of everything. Have a lovely day.

I LOVE it! I am excited for you that you are doing the painting a day. My sister (the illustrator) did the same thing a while back and it was a great exercise for her for the same reasons you said!
Embrace all that is good....

I'm not sure if you saw my post on Monday about the Uncle Sam Project but I hope you'll check it out the next time you are in Troy.

Open to the possibilities that will arise--not a bad way to live. Love the water color.
