a lilac blossom

Artwork of Shanna Aitcheson - High school Senior and Grad 2013
I have been so fortunate to have a wonderful student intern with me.  This marks her third week and yesterday, Shanna completed this lilac blossom.  She will be attending Penn State at the end of the summer to study advertising.  How wonderful to have such a bright student so full of possibilities.

What blossom is your favorite?  Is there one item that you would suggest for Shanna to take to college?
Don't you think that this would be beautiful framed for her dorm room?

I love it....so pretty and I like it has a border, but the lilac goes outside of it. What a valuable experience for your intern to be working and learning from you!

well done Shanna. You could decorate an entire dorm room/apartment around this painting. Beautiful

Beautiful painting, Shanna! Aren't the lilacs beautiful right now?

She is SO luck to have you as a mentor, Patricia.

The one thing she should take with her for her dorm room is PATIENCE...it's often hard for girls who are used to everything being "just so" (as mine was) to adjust to dorm life. With the right mindframe, she will do GREAT!

Enjoy your day - hopefully the sun will appear later! xoxo

Jennifer,
Shanna is loving all the comments.

Sandy-
Thanks - Shanna and her room mate have been communicating via facebook and are planning on agreeing on a color scheme so the room looks "just so" -
Have a great day~

It will look great in her "room". The "outside the border form" makes it!!!!

That's very pretty! Do you all have a pen that you prefer to use with watercolors? What watercolors do you like to use?

Not necessarily for college only... I cannot help but notice the lack of a signature or monogram on her pretty picture posted here.

So I would advise that she remember to always sign her art!

Shanna's lilac is lovely! How nice that she has been working with you. Best to her as she starts Penn State! xx

Elsa,
Yes, Shanna indeed did sign her name on one of the stems if you look closely you will see it.

What a beautiful lilac flower. I think your intern is super talented! Have a happy Wednesday and be sure to check out my latest review :).

Appreciate you pointing it out.

I looked now at a larger version and do see the words, running along the top of a leaf. In the smaller image, her signature resembled a caterpillar, but it is clearer in the larger view.

Elsa,
yes, a leaf and not a stem.
I have another fun work Shanna did....I'll be sharing that soon.
