Horse Manure

This is an oil painting, a still life, that I painted. Did you know that horses love apples and farmers love manure.
Manure makes excellent fertilizer. Everything we grow, eat and then excrete goes back to the soil.
Truly, everything is only borrowed.
At the time when I painted this, I felt disappointed with my little painting. A disappointment like I had just stepped into something unfortunate. Alas, now I realize the importance of "manure"-Nothing is truly wasted. Even the things that smell or dissapoint us become fertilizer that will only help us to grow stronger.

I think it's mot manure-ish at all!
Your use of light is amazing and it shows on this painting.

As artists it's hard to ever be fully satisfied with our work. This may be a good thing. If we ever were, then we'd never grow.
