a bowl of cherries

Why not create your day by starting with a bowl full of cherries? I love having freshness around me, fresh fruit, fresh flowers and pretty things. There truly is something special about making an artful life. Inspiration can come in many forms.

Auguste Escoffier, a legendary French "haute cuisine" chef and culinary writer, wrote and prepared the first "Cherries Jubilee" for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee Celebration in 1887. Other notable dishes to his claim, are Peche Melba as well as Melba Toast!

Design your day around something you love. Prepare or create a day full of goodness and it will surely make your life like a bowl full of cherries. Live life as if each day is "jubilee" worthy!

Oh yes! Except that there are no cherries around! It's a beautiful still life though! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Around here life is a big bowl of Clementines. They are so good this year, that we can't seem to get enough of them. The little ones were here last evening for a pizza party {and there was dancing} they left with a basket of them.

:) LOVE cherries, my family's summer cottage is in Door County, WI (Door County and Mackinack Island are the two preppy locales of the Midwest for summer homes). DC is known for it's cherry orchards and cherries will always be near and dear to my heart :)

Happy Sunday

Wise words and good advise! Beautifully inspiring picture for a day in the bleak dreary Chicago weather... Hope the twins are happy with how their tests went yesterday!

"Life os Just a bowl of Cherries."
The Bing cherries are at the supermarket now and very good..
I like the Queen Anne also.
How have you been? My systen went down and I lost all my daily read.

You have me thinking of painting Cherry blossoms.
Take care,

Those little ruby gems look so delicious, both to eat or just simply admire as art! Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments about my plate collection....the squares are really something.

We had cherries last week. This week our bowl is full of oranges. I just love their taste and the scent of the zest reminds me of my Father.

I love cherries.
I always pick out the red gummy bears, too.

What a nice post. I started my day the same and almost posted the picture I took! Funny. I remember learning that about 'cherries jubilee' on Jeopardy! Hope your twins did well yesterday!

yummmy.... sounds good. I had a big bowl of organic blueberries this morning. Now if I could just keep that goodness going for the rest of the day....that would be great. :)
