boys will be boys

"boys" -a commission - pve design artwork, watercolor on arches aquarelle paper, 16 x 20,
These boys posed for a "candid" shot and they were less enthralled to be there - I loved working on this one. I got lost in the old adage, "boys will be boys." You can imagine how hard it (was) to get three boys, one lizard, a cat and a dog to pose in harmony. I love the nonchalant attitude of each boy that I was able to capture.

This art will be used for a holiday card. I hope that this will be a nice memory for them as a 4th little bundle of joy is en route to rock the world of boys, and we are hopeful for a girl to add some sugar and spice.

This is incredible - you captured 'the boys' so well! Those who receive holiday cards designed by you are in for a very special and beautiful treat!

Mel-
Wish you were next door to see the original - afraid my scanner is not up to par to capture all the details.
But it shall soon be in the form of cards....and a special treat for the recipients on the list!
As always, love your smiling comments.

Your ability to so perfectly capture their outfits and 'attitudes'/body language speak mountains about this moment in time! I have b/w photos of my three older brothers at about this same point... just before a 'little sis' came into their lives!

What a charming illustration! I'm amazed at the patience that it must have taken to get three boys to pose for a decent shot!

I love this illustration: the boys, cat and dog are all so classic in their poses.

Oh this is such a memory. How great to capture this moment in the boys lives.

Time passes so quickly and children are the authentic timeline. Otherwise we'd feel 15 at 40 and not be anywiser!

What a great painting. I am saving my pennies for you to one of our dog Millie. She is so sweet and my parents would really love her captured in a painting. Your work is so amazing!
