nothing to do - fab friday

fab photo from "whatever" - here
The phrase - "nothing to do" is music to my ears.  It seems as fab friday rolls around, I take great delight in looking forward to nothing to do.  A bit of down time is needed for each of us.
Nothing like crayons, white paper covering a table to take us to another place.  Do you allow yourself some time for "nothing to do" or are we all supposed to be scheduled up the wazoo?  I really treasure having nothing to do but color, eat, talk, and listen to my children, my husband and my friends.  Cheers to a fab first of May and to the art of nothing to do.

Funny... we have both posted about
'down time'. A little R and R, nothing to do. Ahhh... music to my ears. Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you're doing nothing, but I know better.

I definately allow myself to do nothing at times. I think it's very valuable to one's being. An inbalance is created when everything is going at a high speed all the time. It's called burn-out. And we don't want that!
I'm heading to the Library today for some cerebral exercise.
Happy Fab Friday to you too! :o)

I can only seem to do nothing when I'm supposed to be sleeping.... what's up with THAT!?

PVE~ I sometimes have the same problem sending off a comment. Usually works when I try again. Have a 'do-nothing' weekend ;)

Love this post! Fridays are our sleep-in day and we very rarely schedule anything. Have a beautiful weekend while Spring lasts!

I love 'nothing to do , no where to be time'... but it seems to be happening less and less in my life these days. I love snow days and the month of August for that very reason...they tend to be the times that I'm no longer 'on the clock'.

Love, love the new site design!!! You are so super talented- I could look at your illustrations all day! I have a Westie...so I love the doggy drawings!

Have a great weekend!

Downtime is non-existent for me apart from sharing meals with loved ones, but I choose it and love it. I hope you have a lovely weekend and erm.. cook perhaps ;)

I just had my downtime and now working my ass of (literally) ;)
Love those R&R moments, talking, eating, playing scrabble.

I love having down time. I have to force it on myself though. There is always something to do so I feel guilty like I should be doing SOMETHING. Very sad. It's why I love our knitting group so much.

Oh I totally allow myself some down time. Especially when hubby gets home from work it's time to just veg out.

I even love taking out an old coloring book and going to town with my crayons.

Hope you have a great weekend!

I've been living the art markers out lately and have noticed we are all enjoying our nothing to do time a little more. Have a great weekend.

I feel like it's been a long time since those words crossed my mind. As always, you have just a wonderful way with words and I like the sounds of your down time. I think I will find nothing to do this weekend :)

Unstructured time and 'days of nothing' are very important in our home! Happy weekend Patricia!

I'm not very good at the art of nothing to do.

But your crayon photo reminded me that I have a full box of Crayolas and a Barbie coloring book stashed away somewhere!

Have a great weekend... I am looking forward to some down time. But it won't happen until Saturday afternoon. I am hosting a baby shower at my house in the AM- lots to do!

Almost fourteen years ago, my job was crazy and my life was in turmoil, my husband gave me the greatest gift: if you can live on what I make, come home and do whatever you want. I did. I have. Everyday is a free day for me. I am always busy, but never rushed. I try to make his life easier every day for the great gift he has given me.

home before dark-
bingo. you hit the jack-pot. learning to live with less and to simplify does free up time for doing nothing but everything you love. I hope to inspire my kids this way. having time for nothing is priceless.
thanks for your comment.

You just described the perfect day - Nothing but time with the ones you love - crayons are a bonus.

Have a lovely weekend!

Oh I adore those days...really some of my favorite memories are of the feeling of having nowhere particular to be, nothing particular to do. I actually am pretty religious about leaving my Saturdays free to go to the farmers market and wander around the city. Heaven.

It seems like when kids are at home it is more difficult to find those little times to just do nothing. I have a hard time just doing nothing but there is much value in just relaxing. Always good with a glass of wine.
Have a great weekend.
Blessings...

I have not had enough down time, however it has been very gratifying to help get the art space ready for the Second Friday Art Event on the eighth!
