old friends

Holiday Illustration 2003 from Albert de Monaco - Illustration: Fabrice Monaci
There is nothing better in life than that of old friends.  Above is an illustration, an old Holiday greeting of Monaco from Prince Albert.  My husband grew up in Monaco and has been friends with Prince Albert for many years.  Visiting old friends is like returning to a special place and time.

I saved this illustration of Monaco because I loved the writing superimposed on top along with the images set in a montage format.   The Holidays are coming soon as I gather my inspiration for many commissions for holiday artwork to use as cards.  Sending greetings to new and old friends in far away places is a way to stay in touch, even if it is only once a year.

What a lovely keepsake to have. Like you, I've been planning my Christmas card for a while now. Love to plan them, love to make them, love to send them. And of course, love to receive them!

Hi Patricia,

This is simply beautiful. Nostalgia seems to set in as we look forward to glad tidings.

I have come to you by way of small words. Kim and I have known each other for many many many many years. I absolutely LOVE your spirit and you heart. I have two children's stories I am completing. One is a crab and the other is a frog. Would you have an interest in doing the illustrations?

I love the style of the postcard! I have a friend who always remembers to send me one when traveling. The front has always been doctored; more often than not, my friend will place himself in the middle of the scene. I love getting them.

Love all the scribbles. And the color is so vibrant! How do you store and organize all of your work?

I hope you'll share the illustration you use on your personal holiday cards :)

Thanks for "sending it forward"...that took me right back to Europe. Gorgeous.

I always keep cards. People write so infrequently nowadays that I always cherish what's on paper!

Friends with Grace Kelly's son...the prince!...fabulous. I love this illustration, too, and the story behind it is even better.

Hoping your son is feeling much better, too.
