get tanked

When the market tanked yesterday - surely it is a sign to "get a tank." Can't beat the heat, then a tank will provide a cool solution. After a rough week, I heard that the New York City bars were full of people "getting tanked" over the tanked market. I prefer to buy a tank.
Tanks are a great solution for Indian Summer days and nights.
All tanks are from Martin+Osa
One can never go wrong with an essential white tank. The perfect accessory with denim and adds a layer of warmth for winter months.
A clean cardigan layered over a tank equals comfort dressing at home or at the movies.
This is also a great way to travel.

Feel the need to shine, add a polished satin tank when you just need to feel a little more "dressed."
Start a revolution, with a little bit of an what I like to call and "empire" tank. I just lose my head over this one. Call me Josephine.
Seems as though I am not the only one losing their head in a tanked market.
Do you wear tanks and which brand is your favorite? One blogger comes to mind who sports tanks - can anyone name that tank wearing design darling?

I have a drawerful of cotton Old Navy tanks. I wear them around the house with yoga pants, under cardigans to work or where-ever, and under my cashmere sweaters in winter.
I don't have any "pretty" ones, though--I guess I have a hard time finding bras to wear underneath!

Oh Patricia... You're speaking my language here! I'm a fan of getting tanked! :) And that green cardigan was made for me! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it... and green is my FAVORITE color! Like the "cashmere librarian" above most of my tanks are from Old Navy. When you wear them everyday and you've got kids that puke you can't beat paying $6 for them... then you can get them in every color! :) My favorite style of tank is racerback... it puts a little sexy spin on the plain old tank! :)

cashmere L -
oh bother, finding a bra can pose a problem, I suggest trying a strapless or ones with clear or pretty straps.
suppose one could go without if inclined.

darby -
almost posted the photo of you with your tank on -
they are easy to wear and can be found for not a lot of money, then the limbs are free to wield daily tasks -unencumbered. (mortisha adams - how did she do it with all that hair, mascara and sleeves that drape down to her knees...halloween is coming!)

Patricia-

I got a chuckle on your title this morning and so fitting (after yesterday's news). I love getting "tanked" that requires no asprins the following day! One can never have enough tanks!

Well, when wine isn't an option...retail therapy always helps.

Love tanks. You are right...they are the perfect layer solution for this season!

Don't forget the other great place to stock up...Target! Gotta love the designer lines...

I am with you, Patricia!Much prefer to wear a tank then to drink myself to oblivion getting"tanked". Solves nothing and leaves you with a killer headache, not to mention the aging effects. Great suggestion. Tanks are perfect for layering or alone and I love J Crew tanks of all colors.

Anne-
Living in Florida, I would be a "mumu" clad mama over my bikini or tanks with cashmere cardigans will do. Not fussy here!

Martin + Osa always has great choices! My "uniform" is a tank top and cardigan - it's one of my favorite combos.
I love that grey satin one. Gorgeous.

I heart tanks. I wear them to the beach, or under a suit to work. I mostly buy J.Crew ones which are typically very marked down at the end of summer (speaking of which...there's a J. Crew on my way home...and it is the end of summer...)

I like Martin+Osa, but have never bought anything there. I'll have to go and look again. I have all sorts of tanks---from The Gap, from Worth, from Doncaster, from Talbots. I usually wear a jacket over them because I am a bit long in the tooth, but my husband likes them without.

All those tanks are great. They'd come in handy for today's 92-degree weather.

I'm gaga over that last one.

I'm with you - I love that last one!

Love the premise of this post...

Top tank is my uniform. I wear a tank almost every day. Have to be long enough to cover the gap between low-rise and belly button. That is my standard.

Although I do not like white tees, I like a white tank very much.

I heart your word play on tank . . .
