patio party

pve design illustration for jmclaughlin
A patio is a perfect spot to hold a summer's eve cocktail.  Entertaining outside is a great way to embrace your inner "courtyard" and liven up your terrace or patio with accessories to bring about an island soiree.  Palm trees, fountains, and lattice work can easily be added to transform a space from drab to delightful.  Torches to add light as well as strings of lights are a wonderful way to add ambiance, and extra light when the sun goes down.   Events can be tied to a gallery opening, or for a worthy cause on a patio, terrace, deck or sun-roof!

This one got me excited! We are having a new patio built soon and then it will be my sons 3rd birthday with a party here. Thanks for the inspiration!

I agree, you can make any space nice -lattice and plants will transform a concrete porch in the city into a tropical oasis :-) Beautiful clothes shown here, too!

This also makes me want to throw a party! If only I had that patio!

If only it weren't 110 in the shade, I'd love to host or, better yet, attend a patio party. As usual, love your art! I was hoping to do a post on my blog about some of the talented creative artists' blogs I've found (like you and Hazel). Would it be ok if I posted one of your illustrations along with it?

That sketch is so cheery - looks like Palm Beach and could inspire me to have a little outdoor get-together.

Please be my "oh so chic" neighbor so we can plan parties, plan organic gourmet meals and paint together. Seriously, you are such inspiration!

Ah, I adore this scene. It's so summery and playful! It's inspired me to take my laptop and work outside on my patio to enjoy the weather. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us. I hope one day (when I'm in my "forever" home) to have to create an illustration for us.

BTW, I wanted to let you know that I've suggested to many of my design school buddies that they take a look at your interior illustrations for inspiration. You helped me get an "A" in my rendering class! : )

Patricia, did you do fashion illustration at any time? You do it so well!

Hope that party was a blast. :)
