tweed rover

I rather like knowing that I am in line with Bill Cunningham.  I have a fashion file of smartly dressed ladies and gentlemen in dashing tartan and tweed.  I could just sketch this sort of look all day long.  When I worked in Fashion, Fall was always my favorite season because of the myriad of textures and patterns.
I am going to devote this week ahead to sharing some kicky fashion illustrations.
What sort of Autumn classics do you wear every year?
Vests, bow ties, caps, hacking jackets, argyles, lace ups, plus fours?

I cant wait to see what you tweet up! Bow ties reminds me of Suann's adorable son, Ike. He is 5 yrs old and loves wearing his bow ties! xo

I am very much looking forward to this. Which reminds me, did you ever read Tish Jett's post on my blog, illustrated by Jeanne-Aelia, about the family Bon Chic Bon Genre? The link is here. http://amidprivilege.com/?p=2214. Sometimes clothing tells a heck of a story.

love hacking jackets, tweed caps and have a great pair of two tone brogue walking shoes! I'm a huge fan of chunky knits too, nothing like curling up in a huge chunky knit with a hot cup of tea on a cold windy day. Look forward to this weeks posts!

you know patricia i love my herringbone jacket and anything tweed mixed with denim or chambray. i feel most at home dressed like this. which is a shame b/c southern california is really a desert. but fall and winter, i'm in heaven.

look forward to your renditions as always.

I can't wait to see what you come up with. Exciting! Tweeds are wonderful and romantic and sing out such a lovely part of Autumn! It's a go to, for sure for me - I have a tweed jacket that I am mad for .... add some whiskey leather gloves a some suede over the knee boots with my jeans.. and I'm ready to go!
Now I think I have to go find an excuse to go out so I can wear it.

My favourite fall item is a cape I found in Paris when I was there a few years ago.

This makes me smile. I was wearing a houndstooth jacket yesterday and was told that I look like an old man who should have a pipe in his mouth and a jolly-oversized belly. Considering I am on the lightweight rowing team that didn't make me smile. Times changes peoples perceptions of what one should clothe themselves with, especially on college campuses
