serves me right

In my mind, I often remark of how I would love a servant, a cook, someone to serve me right. It seems that feeding twin sons, is like that of a bottomless pit. As soon as one meal is finished, I here rumblings of what is to eat? One thing which is always stocked are plenty of leafy greens to compose a salad, add chopped veggies, an egg, some nuts or dried fruits and maybe even a bit of "fromage" and these utensils are ready to serve me right away.

So, I turn to my trusty salad servers and delight in the price and in giving these as gifts. What do you have at the ready to quench your hunger and serve someone right away at the drop of a hat, or in my case, the drop of a drawing?

Always lots of fresh veggies for salads and snacks. Until the weather really warms up-there is soup. A mug-full will warm the hands as well as the heart. I like your servers- mine look like two big claws-that were made in Quebec. I hope you have a warm Sunday...

On hand, frozen and fresh fruits ready to combined with cheese and a delicious bakery fresh bread (frozen)--for drop in guests.

My son has the same habits...one meal down I hear him Mama I am hungry. Questioning does not help. We stock cereals, nuts, bananas and other fruits, he usually makes himself a smoothie or wolfs down leftover meats or soup.
I can see were you are coming from. Love your serving tools!

Soup - I make it on the weekend, and there is often enough for me to have lunches during the week. Avocados and tomatoes and feta, for a nice salad.

For the kids? Usually fruit...but it seems as if they are gone so much these days (they are all in school until 3, and then there are afternoon activities). Plus, I have three girls, which is an altogether different thing than twin boys (in appetite as well as other ways)!

I was just thinking that I needed new salad

I have two teenage boys myself, so I always have lots of protein on hand. They really like roast beef sandwiches or bbq sandwiches with lots of sauce(being Southern)! A friend once told me when her boys were 16 and 17 she would cook legs of lamb, roast beef and pork on Sundays to have for their after school snacks! during the week. I wish my boys would eat more greens - although my daughter loves a good salad!

Apples and nuts. Cheese and crackers. Blue corn tortillas, cheese and salsa. Cheese de jour and whole grain bread for panini. And "home-made water". We now distill our water and chill it rather than buy water bottles.

I too make use soup as my secret weapon. My family and guests can enjoy a daily bowl at dinner time. Made from scratch always! It is the easiest and most heart warming thing I know how to make. And my son never rejects it.

my two boys have hollow legs too, there is always truck loads of fruit around, a bakery full of bread (for croques) and pasta. It never ends!

When all the kids are home, I can never cook enough...and I enjoy it, too! LIke you, I have a junior daughter and after she leaves and we are left with one--is it worth cooking? :0)

How fun to see what everyone has said. We always have fruits, nuts, chocolate, cheese and smoked salmon dip w/crackers...and these wonderful little organic Vicolo frozen pizza's with fresh tomatoes, basil & feta. They have a cornmeal crust and they're delish!
(they also have roasted garlic and mushroom - no, I don't work for them)J~
