oyster gray

ostrea edulis - wikipedia

While illustrating this home, I fell in love with this gray color, which reminded me of "oysters" which I heart.  One can imagine returning here after a day of errands, and settling down to a divine dinner of oyster stew served on a lovely dish with crackers on the side and some sort of frothy brew to wash it all down.   Oysters on the half-shell, oysters "rockafella"- rolled oysters....and the list goes on for all the various ways one can enjoy oysters. (my apologies to those of you who do not have a penchant for oysters!)

Suddenly, I am loving all these gray casted tones and then the pop of the red oxblood door.
Are you feeling gray, or could it be all the 7th gray and rainy day.  As my husband left early to play soccer, he reported, "another oyster gray day!"

What a lovely photograph of the oyster. While I love the lustrous color of pearls, I am not naturally drawn to the colors of its home. Here in the midwest we have grayed barn wood, not the same as the oyster's internal beauty which looks like a cross between a seascape and clouds. We had a rule in our house: anyone playing wet soccer had to do his own laundry. Enjoy your day.

Oyster gray days...great way to put it! We certainly are not seeing any sun, right? We have a neighbor with a gray house like your illustration but instead of the red, went with a magenta pop--a little different and vey cool! Spending the day coloring animals with my youngest! :0)

Hope you enjoy Sunday!

Love the illustration and the red door is perfect with the gray so classy, it speaks loudly, with a soft voice. Nice!

even after living in the oyster capital of the country, apalachicola, florida, for a spell, i still didn't find a fondness for raw oysters. needed to have them cooked. hmmm, all that grey... you'd think you were in seattle. pam

I love the red door, and such a stunning illustration! The branches look so great along the top of it.

I love oysters and this great article. It reminds me of summertime by the ocean, even though I eat oysters year round. What a lovely illustration of the home. And, yes, I would definitely buy your gorgeous illustrated notebooks, I love to jot down inspirational things in my notebooks all the time.

I have to fess up that I'm not that fond of Oysters (jewels one may find in them aside, of course). But I do love Oyster gray - it makes for a very serene room.

I posted a photo yesterday and someone told me to come look at your grey.

when i was in college, the school had its own oyster beds! we'd grill them with a little cheese on them.

my other fave thing is to clean the oyster shell and fill it with a few sheets of phyllo dough and cook it briefly and then add a chopped oyster mix. yummmmm.

I like the idea of oyster gray....we have had many of those days around here. While I am not an oyster eating person, those were fabulous photos!

I am in love with gray. I embraced my gray hair 2 years ago and have not turned back. It is the new black.

I want to move in right now. I don't know what's inside but I've decorated it in my head. I love this color.

Love the varients in colour oyster grey brings. Totally love raw oysters Patricia, MOTH & would crawl across broken glass for them. I knew MOTH was the man for me, when just 2 hrs. after we met, the subject of oysters appeared in conversation. His whole face lit up, his knees went trembly & his eyes glazed over. That was it, I just knew there was no turning back! Husband #1 hated them & I vowed I'd never marry another man unless he loved oysters as much as me. So as you can tell, MOTH's the perfect Husband #2!

If I were on death row, my last meal request would be Chincoteague oysters 3 ways; on the half shell, "Rockafella", and grilled. Pure heaven...
