apron strings

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love aprons.  They are great for wearing while painting, cooking, or working to protect your clothing.  Here is one that I had a little pve design illustration printed on which I think would make a sweet gift for a Dad on Father's Day!
What is printed on your apron or who is tied to your apron strings?

I have a special apron given to me by my now deceased Aunt Ann. It is black and white pinstriped with red trim. I love it because she gave it to me. And I think of her often, especially when I wear it. :)

I wear aprons all the time ~ cooking, art projects in my classroom, and in my craft room at home. I have them in different patterns, styles, and colors. Love them all!

Oh, honey! Don't you know I have little people hanging from my apron strings!

I remember my grandmother was never in the kitchen without her apron on. She was straight out of Ozzie and Harriet or Donna Reed. She'd be dressed, pearls and all--then a cute pleated apron on top! Great memories.

That is a very cute apron. I have an apron that has a red toile pattern on it that I use all the time when I'm cooking.

I had an old Lilly Pulitzer one from the 70s. So old and used and washed so many times, you could no longer see the pattern it was so faded, but the cotton was very soft.

My little crumb, Gaia, is tied to my great-grandmother's pastel yellow ruffled apron strings - and I love it!

do you know how much i love your questions?
they just stir my thoughts and often take me back in time to wonderful memories ... here's a hug for you!
aprons ... well, in 4-H my very first project was to sew an apron and if i can find it someday, i will post a picture of it ... i have oodles of aprons and often wear the old bib variety ... love the pockets for placing odds and ends in when picking up ... my mom wears these varieties as well and has two that she keeps at my house for when she visits ... aprons are usually colourful and cheery and are just so darn practical ... love them!
thanks always,

I have black and white striped aprons with Paris Bistro logo on the top. My husband's grandmother, who was a poet and celebrated noncook, knew her husband truly loved her for herself when he gave her a beautiful organdy apron, no pockets, no use but pretty. Love your apron. You should sell them. I'm jealous of Pigtown verification. My was "wifyted". Is that some kind of code/omen?!

Very nice! Abbott and Cal both have personalized aprons, and Alexi has one his Grandmother made him with a hand drawn illustration. It was a gift for graduation from medical school and is a treasure now (as always was) as she died last year.

I love the apron with PVE design!

Your post reminds that even aprons tell a story. I have several - my favorite is one I purchased recently in toile from Williams Sonoma. Before that I was using an ugly brown floral that was given to me as a wedding shower gift. After 15 years of marriage I decided I was allowed to choose my own pretty apron rather than feel obligated to use the one given to me. I also have a few aprons from my grandmother's collection. I love the vintage fabrics and the designs are such fun.

Love the apron!!! I have a red floral apron I love. My husband thinks it is kind of sexy. Why? Where does that come from? But it makes me laugh.

I love aprons also. I have a cute denim bib-type for potting plants. A pin-a-fore one for holidays. Made my first one in girl scouts for a badge. I have made many as gifts for friends.
They are starting to show up in gift stops.

I have gotten rid of all my aprons...I used to have a fabulous one from Harrods in London. I am sure I got in one of my "must clean everything out" mood and tossed. Bummer.
