gray garden

My gray rock collection inspires me to add more gray to my life.
Gray is soothing.
There is something about gray in the garden that seems to be inspiring my every move.
The color of the wet rocks reminds me of these planters that I scored a few years ago.
Metal gray, zinc gray, stone gray
Sometimes they have plants and sometimes not.
These gray wire urns were found by my husband just last week.
Did I mention he has a great eye for beauty?
A dark gray basalt sink by stone forrest for a powder room.
It also comes in carrera.
The gray stacked fieldstone ready for stacking on a wall of my home.

As I post this color chip - Tuxedo gray is being painted on the soffit and facia of my home.
It looks a bit deeper than the chip, the gutters will be the same color.

I am trying to be daring and bold. After all, our addition is all about being brave.

The other contender was this color above, terratone.
Perhaps a safer color choice, but maybe too neutral.
It looks good on this home below.
My front railing is black, my home is white and the doors will be painted a rich color.
Dark gray looks good surrounded by a verdant paradise.
Gray also looks so elegant in a more urban setting.
Do you like gray in your garden?

First in my text I forgot to mention I LOVE the planters both with and without plants!!
I gave my thumbs up to the color you picked. It is a very rich color and will be a great canvas color to the colors that surround your home. Good choice my friend. xo

Gray has always been one of my favorite colors. Who doesn't love a fine pair of gray flannel pants? I love the clean look gray has... with whites, blues, pinks... anything. So beautiful in a garden. In a home. Love it!

Please show more pix of your garden.

I like your color choices - either would have been fine. What rich color are you going to use for the front doors? I can't wait to see! I have dark green front doors now and have grown bored with them.. I'm thinking of a brownish caramelish terracottaish color... But then I have to paint the shutters too... so I just wait instead...

I can't wait to see how your yard turns out and love that your husband has such a great eye! I can never have enough gray, painted my whole house gray interiors when I moved in 3 years ago and slowly transforming the backyard with more gray!

I love the gray that nature imparts to the garden in the form of rocks...all shapes and sizes...greenery and flowers looks so beautiful against them.
