green light

I captured this photo in Vermont and was enamored by the green light of the afternoon.  The light and the cast shadows from the trees.  I love the horizontal dappled light in the foreground and the vertical stark trees shooting up to the sky.  Take a walk where you live and notice the light and the way it plays, dances and inspires.  Painting is all about the light and the shadows that the light casts.  I am going to paint this one of these days, or perhaps you would like to give it a try.  I give you the "green light."

beautiful.........green is the colour of all things that are good.....green soothes emotions, relives tension, relaxes and sedates.....the dominant hue of nature, suggestions of rejuvenation and new life ahhhh yay for green. I can't wait to see your illustration :)

Vermont is one of my favorite places - New England in general is so beautiful - I just love the country side here. Last night I posted a blog with antique New England houses - what I love about them is how they sit on the land here - and I agree, the quality of light can make a place magical.

I think green is one of the most under-valued colors. We must take it for granted because it is in such excess outdoors! Anyone who dislikes green just needs to look at that photograph to be convinced!!

I love your photograph. So pretty and serene. Walking is one of my favorite things to do...I use to walk fast and not notice everything around me - now I have slowed down and find I do gain inspiration from all of the wonders to be noticed. Thanks for the post and picture!

All things bright & beautiful-

I know, can you imagine,no it is not a golf fairway but dear friends property in Vermont - they moved from the city and built an absolutely stunning home in a peaceful orchard, then had 2 children. Peaceful no more! Ha!
