walking friends

My dog Bentley is one of my very good walking friends and each day he loves nothing better than to go for a good walk.  Lately, I have been making an effort to walk more and been averaging around 15 miles per week and have partnered with my neighbor who also loves to walk.

Do you have any walking friends?  I hope you feel inspired to walk with one friend or two and see the positive effects of walking which is so good for you.  I feel inspired to walk more and to keep a sketch diary of the walkers I pass.  Everyone says hello and seems to have regular walking friends.  Find a track or path and ask a friend to walk today.

slow cooker

Meet my new slow cooker. My twin sons gave me this baby for my birthday.
I did drop a hint that I'd love one! Especially after seeing so many articles on how the slow cooker is back in fashion.
Keep in mind that today's slow cooker is not your mother's crock pot!
I keep finding lots of healthy inspiration over here.

This ceramic insert can be served right to the table and makes clean up a breeze.
I can't decide what I love more, the slow cooker or the fast clean up!
Are you a member of the slow cook revolution in this fast paced life?

luminesce

Just 3 days of eating raw veggies and fruits and drinking elixirs of juices composed of vegetables, celery, cucumber, carrot, beet, parsley, kale - I wanted to share some of my after glow list with you. My daily ritual was really easy, just planning and preparing, stocking up on organic veggies and fruits and raw ingredients.
(No dairy, no caffeine, no alcohol, no meat, chicken or fish and no carbs and no sugar.)

Radiant
Less redness in skin
Calmer
Lost weight
More energy
Slept like a baby
Regular
Increase in alertness
Taste buds intensified
Sense of smell heightened
More open
Stronger will power
Increase in focus
Accomplishing more

Would you like a list of changes to occur simply by the choices you make? Well, you can!
I suggest you have someone to hold you accountable, as one can easily make the wrong choices.
If you are feeling sluggish, and feel the need to start fresh, I suggest working with this wonderful holistic nutritional guide. Having a daily ritual, a list, and an intent prior to your start will no doubt produce miracles. You owe it to yourself to radiate light, love and to be a "wholesome you!"

(of course, one should always check with their health professional first, and I am not paid to advertise wholesome you)

squash blossoms

my summer squash, in my garden
My Father would be proud of my garden, the summer squash and the squash blossoms. Tonight I shall prepare a favorite meal, summer squash, fresh fish and some spinach.  Slice summer squash and layer in a baking dish, drizzle some olive oil, sprinkle some parmesan cheese and bake til tender.  Toss a pile of clean, fresh spinach in a dish with lemon, olive oil and garlic and you know it is ready when it starts to wilt.  While that is baking, saute a fresh piece of fish, and serve.  There is nothing better than enjoying the freshness of summer from one's own garden.  A squeeze of fresh lemon or lime can add zest to a dish too.  How is your garden growing?
