Last Spring, while touring Union college upstate with my son, I snapped a photo of this quilt that a student had embroidered all the current pop star folks in red. The show was titled "Critical Stitch."
I knew I was saving this photo for a special reason.

March 30th is the last day to see this at the Folk Art Museum.

Two tone quilts have always been my favorite for their crisp graphic contrast, they have such a fresh modern aesthetic despite their age and tradition. Really would love to have seen this exhibit. Stunning!

I love quilts, when our babies were born, each got one. My daughter's is all loved up! Just shreds are left....

Love it!! So graphic and beautiful!! Not sure I can make it in to see it but I do love quilts. I have one my mother made from the extra material of all my old dresses she had made me.
For many years, my bedspread was a quilt made my the "ladies of the church", where my father was a minister. It was the pattern with the little girl with the bonnet. I loved that quilt....and have no idea what happened to it.
Kudos to the Folk Art Museum for featuring this show!!!
I absolutely love quilts and have collected antique ones for years. Some I put in frames, some I just store away in my guest room. Red and white is just beautiful! :-)

What a fabulous way to display quilts - up to a soaring ceiling, each one having a space of its own. My great aunt was a quilter and I'm lucky enough to have one of hers... over 100 years old!
