Boy George

Today we celebrate President George Washington's Birthday. I think I will go out and celebrate....and spend a bit in honor of our boy George. One dollar for your thoughts as to how you are celebrating this day. I wonder what he was looking at when this image was created. I guess smiling for the camera was not in vogue.

I'm thinking about visiting Geroge's boyhood home. It is about 5 miles from my house and they are having a lot of festivities there today. :-)

You'll have two days to celebrate. His birthday is tomorrow, which happens also to be the first International Be A Gentleman day.

I will be celebrating by earning a couple of Washingtons. Hmmm... but I could end the day with a hot piece of apple pie. Enjoy your celebration my friend. xo

Establishing a democracy was serious business. Makes you wonder why all politicians seem to be smiling nowadays.

Enjoy your day!

A personal hero of mine. A humble man who fought for our freedom as he watched those who signed our beloved Constitution fight, die, lose their wealth and their families to bring the Republic to future generations of Americans!
A favorite quote...
"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."

I'm liking your initiative for the day - alas I'm at home working, figuring out how NOT to see the Justin Bieber movie with my daughter!!

Your headline of "Boy George" made me smile on this snowy day.

In honor of our President... I'm spending a relaxing day at home. Paint. Read. Repeat. And maybe spending a dollar or two at the flower stand down the street.
Hope your holiday is lovely. XO

I noticed a lot of people not smiling for the camera when I was in NYC. Apparently it's still not in. HAHA

Oh, I love good ole George! Guess who else's birthday it is today...my sweet husband, Grant! Poor guy though b/w driving us home from VT and conference calls....it hasn't been very relaxing for him.

I think Saturday will be his belated celebration. Hope you enjoyed your "day off"!

Spent the day with the family at the park in our gorgeous 76 degree, sunny weather. Absolutely perfect way to spend the Holiday:)

He never smiled because of his false teeth...they were made of all sorts of things, not just wood, and they were very painful, poor man.
I had to work a bit today...but it was with a friend so it was nice!
Hope you enjoyed your day...
