little squirt

This is an oil painting that I did a few years ago. I call it my "little squirt." There is something about just a little squirt of lemon that can add a certain zest to my day.

What sort of patronizing little squirt adds a bit of zest to your day?

Congrats to Laura Casey who won the "little cakes" book from The Riviera Whimsical Bakehouse.
I know Laura will enjoy baking with her little squirts, oh, I mean her adorable little ones!
(My daughter randomly selected number 29.)

  1. I adore your lemon and enjoy a squirt here and there. During the summer I like to sit back and enjoy a big tall cold glass of homemade lemonade.
I painted a small painting many moons ago while I was in California. It has been hanging in my mom's kitchen.
A bowl of lemons can even add a smile to my day.

  2. There is something about lemons! I love just putting a bowl of lemons on the kitchen counter to brighten the spot. What brightens my day? My little squirts, (or shall I say big squirts) Catie and Carson. Carla

  3. I love lemon-and use a lot of it! Zest here and there and a squeeze. Last night I had family in for another b'day dinner and with wine before dinner we had French Breakfast radishes with smokey sea salt and lemon.
Congrats to Laura on her new cute cupcake book.

  6. I love lemons (and limes). Currently, we have a bunch of lemons on a silver platter on the kitchen counter - so pretty and practical.

Lemons are always in my refrig waiting to be added to my daily tea or on my yogurt.

I love to squirt a bit of lemon in my chardonnay! adds a little zing and cuts through the oakiness ( is that a word!?) :)

  11. Beautiful painting..
I hate to say a squirt of caffeine helps start my day. Shameful as it is.
I do love lemon in a glass of water. Makes it not so watery!

  12. I love the sultry colors with the pop of yellow. Such a beautiful painting Patricia. I think what makes my day is the kindness of strangers, especially through blogging. That and a hug from one of my children!

All my best to you PVE for a beautiful weekend x

  20. I also love to get the lil limes at the grocery store; just enough for a spritz of something. About the size of a 50 cent piece!
    Nice oil paiting,
