happy sketch night

pve design sketches from sketch night at the SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS
I went here last night. My sketch book needed to get happy.
Three hours of sketching, live music and models.
If my sketchbook were any happier, it would scream.
Thanks to this artful gal for giving me the heads up.
How do you make time for happy hours for you?

  7. Hmmm, may be rethinking my new header...just teasing ; )
Just looking at beautiful things makes me happy. I can not even imagine having your talent and ability to bring them to life so beautifully. Being able to paint and being multi-lingual, those would be my custom orders if God were accepting them. XXOO

  18. What a wonderful way to find happiness: a new muse. Your work is lovely and joyful. I am glad you are taking this time for yourself.

To find my own bit of happiness, I go to the garden or read. I do think it is important to renew ourselves even in small doses, to choose happiness even in small moments.

I'm so glad that you made it to the Society and had such a great time. I love the evenings there. It's a place that really can recharge the soul. Coming away with pages of drawings always feels like icing on a already decadent cake.

Thank you for the link. How very kind of you.

  23. Wow you just took me back 16 years (gulp!) to life drawing in design school. It was my favorite class. The human body is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing/baring your sketches with us!

  27. Wonderful, wonderful sketches! They have your unmistakable mark(s). I took Life Drawing in Spring of 2003(live models 2x/week), but most of my work looks like drawings of aliens. I surely appreciate your beautiful work. Hope it's not taboo to say this, but I like your solution for the triangle coiffure- a quick circle!

  28. Lovely sketches. Takes me back to college drawing class... which then reminds of the time we had to draw a guy that I'm pretty sure had a Santa Claus gig during the holidays. The drawings were not nearly so elegant as these!
