good mattes

Time permitting, I love to ship my art finished in a good matte, one that finishes off the work and protects it too.  Framing may also be added on my end or yours.  The above illustration was sent with a generous five inch matte, a double cut, gray and white.

The client added the black matte inside and the simple chic frame.  Ready to hang in your very own gallery!

Definitely. For me, a generously-sized matte makes it just right.

I think matting is an art in and of itself. It can make a work of art look cheap and small or grand and beautiful (like this one you show here!). I love french mattes or ones that have a little extra personalization and interest to them. Or the mattes with paper fronting that are a contrasting color beneath where you see it where you cut through. Beautiful!

I love the wide matte and layer look. Oh... Patricia your art looks beautiful! A very lucky wall is singing it's heart out today.

I have a huge matte around a photo of my dad's hands. The photo hangs on our dinning room wall.

Looks divine! Just perfect. Read your style diagnosis over at SG..... exactly how I might picture your style! So fun to see everyone's results!

Museum matting and framing is so important. It can absolutely complete the work of art & make it stand out beautifully.

this is gorgeous - I love huge mats - also I love them when they are asymetrically placed in the mat. this really makes me want to have you paint my house and frame it just like this. omg - email me!!!

Very beautiful with the black edge, a bit more contemporary and makes your drawing pop.

Where do you get your mats done?
