She said she wanted to make top 8 in breast stroke (age 12 and under) at The Westchester Counties and I told my daughter, "Where there is a will, there is a way!" She made top 8, she finished 7th! There were 93 swimmers that swam breast stroke in her age. Mind you, she only swims on a summer club team and her school during the Winter.
Thank-you to the Coaches who provide constant support, guidance and enthusiasm. Now my daughter has decided that she wants to swim year round. I rarely post family news here on my blog, but I just am so proud of her. All the driving to and from practice was worth it. My message is to never give up and always think that you can do it. We still have the relay and I am excited to see them swim tomorrow!

in the swim
I love little goldfish and round fishbowls.
pve design - oil painting of gold fish -sold June 19,2011
I have been testing and braving new waters.
Each day I allow myself to get in the swim, painting things that inspire me.

This is how it starts and then I just keep doing laps, with the paint and my brush - one stroke at a time.
Hope things are going along swimmingly for you all.

swimmeret

One of my children is a "swimmeret."
Give her a pool and watch her swim.

She is a summer fish and loves to swim competively.
I have not added up the hours this summer, but between swim meets and practices, I think this swimmer has probably clocked enough laps to swim to Texas.

The love of pools, chlorine, swim suits, caps and goggles make my little fish very happy. Are you a swimmer or swimmeret?
Today - I wish all the swimmers all the best at The Westchester Swim Conference! Swim fast and have fun!

swimmy

I really think she is one part fish.
She never seems to tire of the water or swimming.
This week, she will be competing in the Westchester Swim Counties Meet at Rye Playland.
She swims, breast-stroke, butterfly, free-style, and the relay.
I applaud all the athletes for their dedication to swim.
Daily practice surely prepares one for swimming as well as making one strong.
Are you a swimmer?
