Packing it all up to take one son off to college for his freshman year. Seriously folks, I do not remember taking so much stuff. Today, there are cell phones, lap tops, mini fridges, and all the creature comforts to keep one in the loop. Nope, I was not born in the dark ages, but it will be a busy two weeks before I see the light. Did I mention, we are still kitchenless and the renovation is progressing. Excuse my absence but I shall be back in September.

blog love-hate

My Mother always told me there would be days like this.
Some days you love and others you hate
Breaks are good. Getting away is good.
Time out for a little blog love-hate list.
Love that blogging is a virtual escape from reality time.
Hate it that it can be a time drain from reality and really doing what (I) should be doing.
Love reading all your comments.
Hate not leaving a comment for each and every one I get. I am like that.
Love getting more work from my blog to create more art.
Hate not being able to say no when I already have a waiting list of work to be done.
Love my blog time.
Hate that blogging takes time. Now do you understand my blog love-hate?
Love taking blog breaks.
Hate it when I take a break, that I might be missing so many fab blog posts.
Love the challenge blogging adds to my day.
Hate that I feel like I am so technically challenged blogging.
Love that blogging has no generation gap.
Hate that I feel old compared some new sparkly blogs.
Love seeing so many pretty images that inspire me.
Hate that I obsess over posting those same images that inspire so many.
Love when I win blog give-away schwag.
Hate when I don't win blog give-away schwag.
Love feeling up-to-date and in the know.
Hate feeling out-of-date or in the dark.
Love knowing that blogs share real issues too.
Hate knowing that some real issues will always be part of life, no matter what.
Tell me is it me, or do you have a blog love-hate relationship?
Care to join me in a little blog love-hate list?
Do you have blog love-hate?
How much time do you spend blogging every week?
Go ahead and leave a comment.
I am taking a wee blog break.
Back with some more "pve" to love soon!

blogger busyness
Did you ever take a look around you and notice all the busyness going on. Everywhere I go, I see people connected to some portable device. It seems that if we are not signed on, plugged in or on-line, we truly look as though we are wasting precious time. Our life is not measured by how much time we spend on-line, the number of comments left behind or that our in-box full of e-mails. A rapid fire e-mail reply seems to be expected as though we were machines ourselves. Need a reminder that we are humans. Have a nice long Columbus Day weekend and may each of you enjoy some idle time. Recharge your batteries, sign out, get out and spend time with the humans that you love.
I found this image over here along with a few blog tips. Maintaining a blog takes a great deal of time and reading the many blogs takes even more time. I thank-you for taking time out of your busy day with all that you have to balance, blogging, living and giving.
What is your best blog tip that you would like to share?
What a beautiful thoughtful post. As a drink my coffee I must ponder it...and try to be a bit more of a "let life happen and take the little ques as to where it is going". I have been a little more this way this week, and I must say have been happier. I wish I wrote things down a bit more, maybe if I won...} Congrats Gretchen.

recreation room
Time to make room for a little recreation.
I picture mornings that run into afternoons. No appointments, no clocks, just time to enjoy.
Summer seems to be melting away, so I will be taking some time off to enjoy the last bits before school starts.

Not to worry.

I travel with my sketch pad and watercolors.

Walks, nature, good food and family love.

Back soon.
Can you guess where we are headed? (No cheaters now.)

Sunday shelf -silence
One of my favorite places in the whole wide world is Shaker Town, located in Kentucky. One of the reasons I love it so much is not only for the architecture, but for the silent eloquence. I hope you don't mind me if I am silent for a little while. Signs keep telling me to hang up my hat, take a nap, find the stillness in the summer light.I have some work and deadlines to meet, so pardon me and my silence. Not to worry, I will be back shortly. Wishing each of you a golden moment of silence.

road trip
On the road, going down south to visit the folks. We are loaded and ready for the drive. Found this vintage woodie which looks like lots of fun. This week, the children are on "Spring Break" and visiting family and seeing the Grandparents is long over-due. Enjoy the week. I will be on the road and taking a brief blog break. I will be back soon with lots of goodies.Saturday, December 26, 2009
retreat
pve design photo of little red cabin - upstate ny
Taking a little break from the blog to relax, to ski, to rest, to spend time with family and friends. Wishing each of you great tidings of comfort and joy. Take time to look around you and listen to the sounds, see the beauty and give your senses a treat.
Not to worry, I will be back in the New Year full of good things to share, to illustrate and to give thanks for.
