monday motivation - sunny side up

Everyone needs a little motivation to bring a bit of sunshine inside to find the sunny side up of life.
No matter whatever has been tossed your way, try to toss a little sunshine at it and see how much brighter things look.  For the past few weeks, I must admit to being a bit down about our daughter and the emergency hospital stay and now the home recover phase.  This will be week three and between the nurse, the tutors and everything else on my plate, I intend to keep it sunny around here.

On a pleasant note a dear friend texted me to tell me my illustrations were in the New York Times Metro section for a client which made me smile.  I shall scan the advertisement and share that this week with you all.

So, tell me, how do you infuse your life with a sunny side up attitude.  What motivates you to keep looking up and finding the cheerful side of life?

Glad to hear you are staying positive! I always like to remind myself that I've never fixed anything by worrying about it,but rather by tackling it head on. My husband likes to remind me that "stress does not exist. we create it". Both are sometimes easier said. Keep smiling! -Tonya

I always remind myself that I have been very blessed and even when things are not "perfect" it could always be worse. That and lots of hot coffee!

Here's to staying positive!!!

Congratulations!
Your illustrations are so lovely it deserves that New York Times feature.

You know I've also been through a lot of ups and downs in my life and I just want to be thankful everyday. Inspiring quotes and beautiful images and artworks lift up my spirits and my son and hubby are such inspiration for me to move on and carry on in life.

Congratulations on your post in the Metro Section, Patricia!!

I know you've been through a rough spell with your daughter's emergency. The sun is shining today and I hope that it's a better day for both of you.

Whenever I am feeling gloomy, I just count my blessings and realize that I already have much to be grateful for.

But, I think it's important to let people know when you need a boost. People care and they love to help, support and encourage.

Sorry it's been a tough time for you lately! I pray that Amelia recovers quickly and is feeling better. I keep my chin up by remembering how much God has blessed me and that He always works everything together for good in the end! P.S. I pinned this illustration - love it! xo

I always loved the title of "I've been down so long, it looks like up to me." You've been hit on multiple fronts simultaneously. Not easy to navigate. From my experience, while it's important to be sunny side up, I also think it is necessary to absorb those body blows, not gloss over them, not ignore them.

Wisdom and grace are not the gifts of the sunny and the easy. You will be fine, PVE. It may not be easy. But you will be fine. As one gardener said to the other about compost, "Bean there. Dung that!"

Counting down to spring puts a smile on our faces even when it's still cold and blustery outside. That and smiling even when we don't feel like it... Wishing you a sunny week, Patricia, and congrats on the NYT!

Getting lost in paintings or words ALWAYS soothes my soul. ALWAYS :)
It is one of the main reasons I LOVE to come here. I am always delighted.
