I am still at it, sketching new shops, homes, places, pets and keeping things humming along. This happens to be store no. 68 for a client. I have a few deadlines that need my full attention so in case you wonder why things are a bit quiet, I am needing some "stillness" in order to focus my full attention on getting some work completed. Firstly, I rough in the sketch in pencil and then work over with micron pen and a water color wash. Everyone asks how long does a sketch take me to do.
More on that for another post. There are so many variables that go into each work.

Time to get to work. As always - thanks so much for your comments and your support.

I love to see the process of how art turns into the finished piece. I like your work at this point too...this shop reminds me of something you might see in Santa Barbara. I love the tile roof, the iron work, the detail.

if you find stillness... please let me know where i can find some too. ha ha ha crazy pre-k years! your work is lovely as always. xo
love seeing your work in progress. This looks almost like an architect's rendering. Lovely
annie-
thank-you. the process is very much like baking a cake, start with the best ingredients or supplies, and lots of love, care and flops to get to the final product.
stay warm.

Brooke,
Stillness is something we find by letting go, by cutting back, by carving out time for quiet. Even a walk or time in nature can provide peace, even to a pre-k human.

Jennifer,
I often wonder if I should have been an architect!
I do love a good building, a home or a shack. As always, thanks so much for your humor and support.

Patricia I love hearing about the different processes to obtain the beautiful art you create. There is nothing you do that I do not adore. I hope it's a productive and joyous work day!

Loving this sketch - so interesting to see it before the color is added.
What a cute drawing. Love that street scene. Modern but also a throwback architecturally (excluding the brands noted, of course)
Patricia! I love seeing your in-progress shots. They are so inspiring :) Hope you are staying warm in this frigid winter weather.
