monday motivation - break time

I don't know about you but once the school year starts, I always must remind myself to find the time for a break.  It seems before I know it, the school day is nearly over and I have been rushing around to meet a deadline or finish a project.

It might be something as simple as taking time for a glass of water with lemon or it might even be the time to read.  I love this cozy nook designed by Melissa Warner Interior design, with the painting of the bus.  Although my daughter does not live far enough away from the middle school to require the bus, it does remind me to stop and take a break.   Even 15 minutes can be very motivating.  Do you take breaks during the day?

I'm still trying to find my rhythm!! It's time for me to go pick up the youngest...then I have a late day dash to pick up one from football, drive the other to his.

Taking a break to make a plan might help me!!

Hope you're finding yours!
xoxo Elizabeth

Patricia,

I love this nook, it looks like the perfect place to stop for a bit, have lunch, and maybe read a magazine.

Typically I try to limit breaks in the day because I find getting into the zone can take a bit of time. However a break can also be a good thing, clearing out the mind and enabling me to return to a project with fresh eyes.

I hope you are having a good day, with a break scheduled in there somewhere!

I take breaks everyday in order to read inspirational blogs such as yours! xo

Yes, definitely good to take breaks to refuel your energy, creativity and just see where the time has gone! I can get a little OCD when I get started on either work or break and hopefully I take more breaks to recharge than breaks to work! :)

I used to be a work-aholic. Now I simply have a hard time not going to work and taking a constructive break without guilt. I'm still in process. Thanks for the reminder. Mary

What a lovely nook. I try to take breaks to breathe deeply and feel gratitude for the blessing of another day.

Running in the morning. 4:45 seems early, but when you feel that fresh air (even when there's snow) all of your troubles go away and you just "breathe". I don't know what I would do without running.

I just circled back today to see each of your very kind comments. It is good to know that we all "power through" our days and still try to find time for a break.
Reading another blog, running, listening to music, talking with a friend, grabbing moments while we wait all add up to motivate me.
Thanks so much for visiting me and taking the time to leave a comment.
