fare-thee-well

Today is the day to have a little fare-thee-well wishes celebration.  I much prefer that than saying good bye to summer.  A "fare-well" sounds like a nice little send-off.  As I clean out the sand from my shoes, beach bags and other crevices in my car, I want to keep the sparkle and freedom of summer alive in my heart.  Wishing each of you a sparkly day today.  Let's all try to keep the spirit of summer alive.

Will you be having a little summer fare-thee-well wishes party?  How do you bid summer adieu?

  2. Patricia,
I am definitely going to hang on to some of that summer lovin'! I do love Fall, so I feel like it's like saying good bye to one friend, yet welcoming another. Bittersweet, but exciting, too.

Savor today....it's going to be a busy week!

  3. hi Patricia,
Woke up to a very distinct feeling of fall in the morning air. Now feel the rush of getting all those outside projects done before snow comes! Made lists for me and Dan this morning of things that must be done!
    off we go!

  4. From Magnon's Meanderings, an Australian..."The thin duvet will return to the bed, the 'tower' window will be closed at night, and I shall wear two T shirts (instead of one) until about 11 am."

I thought that was a great way to acknowledge September's arrival.

I live in a heavily-forested area of northern California, an area that is tinder-box dry. The first rains of autumn are a welcome relief.

  8. I love the move from Summer to Autumn, the wonderful colours of the trees in the park, cooler breeze but not cold.

  9. ah well, it's fare thee well for you, but hello spring sunshine for me on the other side of the planet!

Anyway, I always figure that it is the actual changing of the seasons that is the magical part. As much as I adore each single season, with all the charms of each, it is the very notion of change which keeps it all refreshing. Year in, year out!

  10. I think that for me we had more of a Welcome Fall celebration. I love the Fall, although it arrives a bit late in Southern California. Thank you for the blessings. Mary
