my ink

This is my pen & ink of choice.  Sakura micron archival pigma ink comes in a series of nibs or points depending on the thickness of line you desire.  Long ago I used a rapidiograph which I had to fill the ink in the cartridge and quite honestly it was a mess.
Begin with a spiral bound journal and make it a goal to sketch once a day.  You can search around on line and fine scads of artists and aspiring artists who keep journals and post daily works, be sure and sign and date your work.  Soon you will begin to see your own line and style develop.

oh the trusty Micron! I truly was excited to see this here today - I have tons of these floating around my desk, my apartment and in various coat pockets. Never leave home without one!

My favorite, too! And you can never have too many. A sketch a day is good for the brain and the soul, I think. Have a lovely day, Patricia.

When I studied abroad and traveled, I journaled and sketched most of my adventures! I wish I would have had one of these pens! Great post!

One of my favorites too! When my love or someone wanted to borrow a pen from my purse I use to hold my breathe- afraidother would press too hard. Now I keep a spare pen to lend out. :)

It is just not you without one of these pens in hand. They are fantastic. What a great reminder about the sketches. I've been thinking about this a lot. Thanks.

Oh I am ordering these immediately. I used to use a rapidograph as well, in the days when I had my checkbook balanced to the penny (read - a long time ago)!
