hugs

As I have said before, I am starting off this year with a gentle heart and hugs.

I am gathering images to inspire this sort of tenderness for my inspiration board. Recently, I read that one fit of anger can erase all the good deeds and it made perfect sense. A hug is like that. After a fight or a moment of rage, a hug can erase all the bad and can add so much good to one's day. Have you ever been hugged and felt that after that hug, everything was alright. A hug can inspire so much. A picture can too.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
A hug is too.
Give a hug.
What sort of message or words does a hug say to you?

  7. A hug means stability in a storm of uncertainty or, in other words, "I got you".

I think the best hugs were between my boyfriend and me before those big THREE words were ever uttered. We knew we both felt that way but it hadn't been revealed. The hug replaced those words in our physical vocabulary.

  8. Reminds me of the Hug project involving individuals who hold the signs FREE HUGS...I bet they feel really good most of the time! I do love a good hug, especially from my children, how could it NOT put a smile on your face.

  13. Hugs are good. Patricia, I took a page from your book (and a blog post that I can't find right now) and got out my paints for some special Christmas presents. One of the twins had a "hand painted goat" on his list. Yikes!

  14. Lovely thoughts and I really like your musings about gentleness--it does seem to be in the air this year, a gentler time for all of us, on ourselves especially. Hope to meet up with you in the coming year for a hug in person!

  17. What a wonderful post to start off the new year. Thank you for the great reminder to "embrace" the ones around you! So often I hug my husband quickly as we run off to start our days. Now I will try to take a minute longer to soak it all in!

I always feel like nothing bad could ever happen when my son hugs me. He does it with such gusto!:) Happy New Year Patricia and big hug! (I love the image you chose too.)
