what you are (notebook give-away)

Have you ever thought that "What you are comes to you."
We spend so much of our life searching for what we are, what we are to become and what we will be that so often what we are just comes naturally.
I enjoy taking time out just to see what comes my way.
As a Mom of seniors, I find comfort in allowing nature to take it's course. It is truly the best way for everyone.
Observing the two of them talking about what is to come, is a beautiful sight.
So very often, I am surprised by what comes to me.
The beauty of another man's artistry inspires me to give gratitude for those that have come before me. Two columns, side-by-side providing support.
On a recent trip to the Cloisters, this "arched twin window" and stunning view came to me.
Literally, my jaw dropped wide open. Luckily, I had my camera.

Are you living a life to be "what you are" or are you living to let "what you are come to you."
Like a child, open your eyes today, wander, step and allow things to come your way.
An imaginary hand shall naturally guide you along the way.

The little notebook and micron pen are my give-away today for one of you.
Perhaps you can record what comes to you and see how it shapes what you are.

Good post, PVE. There is a saying,
"What goes around comes around"--
Glad to hear you are stressing less
about your seniors. Over the past few weeks I've had the pleasure to
walk in the gardens of Old Westbury Gardens and see the beauty of Winterthur. Each one inspring. I do find the more that I am myself that things happen you don't expect, however, the search continues. Love the tiny notebook (kind of like the acorn) and the pen makes a "fine point".
Have a great Wednesday,

Barbara,
Yes, being with nature does provide such a source for joy and is easy to calm to the mind from racing. We truly cannot stress, just hope for the best and that what comes to us is naturally a good fit.
Enjoy your day, and thanks so much for reading~and visiting.

This message is a universal one embedded in most religions and spiritual philosophies around the world.

Thank you for your post today, the images are truly poignant.

I deleted my previous post, b/c I spelled my name wrong!!!

What a beautiful thoughtful post. As a drink my coffee I must ponder it...and try to be a bit more of a "let life happen and take the little ques as to where it is going". I have been a little more this way this week, and I must say have been happier. I wish I wrote things down a bit more, maybe if I won...

Oh this is perfect! Your post struck a chord with me... I am embarking on a life-long dream writing a memoir about my life with my amazing grandmother -- social icon, fashion icon and decorator... manuscript has been sitting on agent's desk for what seems like forever...

As a writer I am always writing things down. I carry a little notebook -- though nothing as nice as this -- in all my bags...

I would love to win this!

The Cloisters have always been a place to reflect and be inspired and next time I go, I will definitely bring my notebook. Mine says "believe there are no limits but the sky."

We go to The Cloisters about once a month - one of my favorite spaces. Lovely post, I always intend to record in a notebook and never do. Waiting for more notebooks on your Etsy shop - too bad I missed the pears, I was going to order but your audience here moves quickly!

Happy Wednesday.

Love this post. Everything in my life "has happened for a reason" and for that I'm not sure I've always understood but I'm learning to have faith that it's always for the best & leads to the next path life brings. Can't believe your seniors will be off next year somewhere great. Can't wait to hear what they decide!

A perfect quote to start my day. Your photos are fantastic and mirror your words beautifully.

I always have a notebook with me to jot down ideas or make a little sketch. I love the one you have here.

Have a lovely day~

This reminds me how important it is for us to slow down and THINK about what our life means and LIVE in the moment!

Love posts like these, are thought provoking and very interesting...I met my husband when I finally sat back and just let something come to me rather than continue searching for the right person to spend my life with. It is a crazy story that I keep meaning to write down!

And when the time comes for my kids to go off into the world I hope I can have the same perspective as you have! Janell

Great post - so important to keep your eyes, mind and heart open. You never know what you might discover, or as you say, come your way. And I never go anywhere without my notebook - it has a refillable spiral interior so I can keep my notes (oh no - more to store). Also love the Cloisters, an oasis of art, beauty and history - ever since my first class trip there in 6th grade!

What an important message; I can't help but notice that it speaks to so many of us, at many different times in our lives. With all of the changes and challenges (and gifts!) of my life right now, I will try and remember to take these words to heart!

As my husband, the lover and player of sports in his youth, keeps telling me: let the game come to you. Or something like: be where the ball is going to be. It what happens when a philosophy major loved little league and basketball...

Sage advice! Hard to slow down sometimes...

What a beautiful visit. I was at The Cloisters years ago and remember vividly a fruit tree (was it quince?) grown against the walls in the courtyard. So beautiful.

Such true words, very karma-like.
Anyone who visits the Cloisters, I am sure walks away with a peacefulness within. It is all that is there to share: beauty and serenity.
Love that notebook and pen! Maybe I will start writing down my thoughts.

Spot on post Patricia! Since I embarked on my artistic journey my library of notebooks is growing. I record thoughts, brainwaves, moments, fears, inspiration. xoxo

My great aunt always advised, "What you invest in life comes back to you threefold." I think "What you are..." is a similar thought. Quite profound.

Cheers.

I love that you picked this journal. I have one in blue that says" Be the change in the world you want to see" by Ghandi. I think about it a lot. Good job passing on some inspiration!
