Monday I shall post the randomly selected winner. Happy Weekend.

ReplyDeleteHappy 100th post - that's definitely something worth celebrating in my book!
ReplyDeletePatricia,
ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet, and that cake... Devine! I am adding that cake to the menu. (and it even matches the decor of the party...serendipity:)
Happy weekend!
Thanks again,
Gretchen O.
My tip:
ReplyDeleteGood food. Good people. Good conversation. Candles. Music. Art. Love.

Oh, I love a celebration and Real Simple is always helpful for tips/tricks. I enjoy a brunch party, there are so many easy to do ahead dishes and people know what to expect @ brunch.
ReplyDeleteOk....I'm embarrassed to admit how much I WANT this!!!! :) Darling!!!! Just darling!

my easiest entertaining tip if you cannot cook or don't want to is to pick up food from the deli and put it on your own platters preferably with a lining of fresh romaine or red leaf lettuces. do this in bowls too of potato salad or whatever. throw some cherry tomatoes around and it looks catered and pretty. and you barely had to lift a finger. keep the packaging the food came in for leftovers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! I love Real Simple recipes!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 100th post and thanks for the wonderful giveaway

Have a table with surrounded with good friends and a bottle of wine (or two), relax and have fun! I love to celebrate!! Have a wonderful Halloween! xo
ReplyDeleteCongrats! My easy entertaining tip would be to have white tea lights, and a bottle of good wine handy!

Happy 100! Love your blog! Great giveaway!
ReplyDeletelook forward to the next 100 posts :)
Congratulations. My best casual entertaining menu is chili or spaghetti which can be made ahead of time. Then I can enjoy my guests instead of cooking! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! Happy 100th post. My entertaining advice is plan, plan and plan.

Make foods that can be prepared ahead of time. This way you can have fun setting the table, selecting music and lighting candles.
ReplyDeleteThat book looks like a keeper! :)
Congradulations on your milestone. A tip for simple entertaining I often use is to have a pretty platter of white grapes and several cheese choices as an appetizer. Add a basket of assorted crackers and white wine and you've got a pretty, no prep nibble to start the party.

Simple is better, haven't entertained in awhile but when I did....simple and try to plan things I can make ahead and freeze.
ReplyDeletewell, this one is hard for me, but I think the best thing to do is relax. If the hostess is relaxed and enjoying everyone, the mood will be perfect for everyone else to do the same.
ReplyDeletebut it's a hard thing to do if you are me!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Donna
Wonderful Patricia! I would say candles and flowers to set the mood! ( I know that is two things, candles 1st.)

ReplyDeleteI have been browsing around for some time, but hardly leave comments, just wanted to say a quick "Happy 100th' to you....I adore your paintings/sketches when you post them, they offer endless inspiration to me.... Happy weekend darling.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy tip is:
Make sure your home smells divine and inviting...have cinamon, apple, sugar and cloves on a low heat bubbling in a saucepan on your stove.
Everyone will feel at home :-)

my best tip is that simple food and decorations are the best and leave you time for spending with your guests... cook and serve dishes you love and it will show.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patricia for the giveaway. Love Gretchens blog.
my easiest tip is.... line the table with small bud vases. it so simple- but adds so much.
ReplyDeleteI cut out a great appetizer recipe -- probably from Real Simple. So easy and so delicious; everyone loves it! Goat cheese, honey, walnuts and a baguette. Slice the baguette, spread the goat cheese, sprinkle walnuts and drizzle honey. Bake in the oven until warm and a bit browned. YUMMY!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest tip for entertaining is to relax and have fun! No guest will have a good time (despite how great the party decor and food might be) is the host is tightly wound.
