mingle

I saved this image for the mix of patterns, the paisley and the zebra-ish pattern. I like the way they mingle and mix. Have you ever thought about amalgamating two opposites to see if they could get along? Funny how a classic paisley and a fresh wild animal print can co-exist. Who would have thought?

  1. I love the way that looks! I have some brown animal print in my bedroom (the rug)...and I wonder what pattern I could get to work with that. Thanks for the inspiration!

It seems in this economy, a blend, a merge is part of the success of keeping things going right?

  6. I love mixing and matching, it makes things more interesting! I am in the process (watching Rob paint right now) of recovering a side chair, fun funky floral on the front and bold stripes on the back, a little twist keeps the eyes entertained.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. I think those two patterns jive nicely. They may seem like opposites, but both are extremely natural and organic - and animal print, and an ancient Persian vegetable shape. I have been moving away from zebra recently, and getting more into giraffe. I think a giraffe print would work nicely with a tight calico floral print. Thanks for the post, good food for thought over the weekend!

  9. Surprisingly...it works! I think sometimes, just having the confidence to put something together and committing to it fully is the key! Elizabeth

  15. Some of the best rooms & beds I've seen put together completely unexpected, contradicting items.
