I do have a weakness for loving paper.
I cannot bear to part with love notes from family, friends and clients who become friends.
Holiday cards, little receipts from "Le Louvre" or "Hermes"
Letter press
Monogrammed stationary
calling cards
notes on napkins
I really do not judge.
Just sentimental me.
Do you save every letter, card and little note jotted down like me?
Are you a paper trailer?
images from elle decor
most certainly. and I loved this post..
ReplyDeleteI keep a box of letters, cards, and other paper treasures and love occasionally pulling out each little scrap and remembering when...
A Perfect Gray-
ReplyDeleteOh, good, I am not the only sentimental one. I am editing and organing my papers. I have some letters that I sent my sister from way back when.

You are right! We are so on the same trail...I'm glad I'm not the only one. I would love to scan them all in one day and make some type of book. Not sure if I ever will, but I like the idea. And I love the photographs you picked!
ReplyDeleteI am a horder of everything personal and lovely, notes, letters and cards are on top of the list!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I try to part with some, but only ten year old holiday cards...
;)

I LOVE paper too. I also love the photo of that home office!
ReplyDeleteI have the most beautiful handmade accordian file from Italy that I keep the really special ones in. I have kept it for this purpose only for such a long time. It almost seems like a time capsule. A pretty hand-painted one at that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post Patricia. I love the board that is so orderly, it make each note seem so special on it's own. Good to visit with you.

I do, I do!! I save every card and note. I gather a few together tying them in with a pretty satin ribbon and put them in containers. I cannot part knowing someone had taken the time out of their busy to send me a note or card. xo
ReplyDeleteI save everything handwritten...I am not very organized about where I keep them though. There is nothing better than finally going through a stack of magazine articles I have torn out and finding a sweet card from one of my kids! One day I will get organized!
ReplyDeleteHopelessly guilty.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely...surrounded, quite the sentimental paper-holic! I also create decoupage cards so you can only imagine the tidbits I have laying around for that.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
xo J~
I save it all. every teeny little thing. I swear the cards and notes and invitations and event tickets are going to need their own home someday.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, occasionally I will go through the cards, any one of them is so difficult to part with!

We share that paper obsession... I studied encadrement & cartonnage for years as a hobby and I think half the reason for doing so was so I had reasons to go into those yummy Italian papershops and by large quantites of something I otherwise wouldn't have a need for!

Your post caught my eye right away. Glad to see that I am not the only one that keeps paper everywhere. I am always looking for the perfect place to put it all. That is half the fun of it all. Love the two images you have shown...very inspirational :)
ReplyDeletePersonal notes and cards are special treasures I keep.
ReplyDeleteGreat office and closet!

Have a great day!
Yes~ It's a guilty pleasure. I have a friend that owns a printing studio... he saves bundles of heavy card stock ends for me- some in the most fabulous colours. They are in cartons- guess where???
ReplyDeleteI do save but I need to do better with display, storage. My favorites are the letters I wrote to my Grandmother from camp, she saved everyone! It's not so much the letters but that she actually saved them all. Love the inspirations pictures you posted!
ReplyDeleteI save all my paper mementos too! What great examples of how to display them. Have a great day!!
ReplyDeletexx-Gina
no, not a weakness, totally understandable. I'm a little ocd with bits of paper : )
ReplyDeleteOh yes I am. It's a problem.
ReplyDeleteNot so much. I love them but don't want to the drowned by them But the minute I throw something away I always wished I hadn't. Obviously a mugwamp on this issue.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to start, and to use that top photo as my inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteI have every birthday/valentine's/just-because cards my husband has given me over the past 16 years... The boys will have fun reading them when they're out on their own!
ReplyDeleteI did then I stopped, then I started up again. I wish I never stopped!
ReplyDeleteI save EVERYTHING even if it's just a "Happy Holidays, love XXX" I think I need to be a bit more selective though! However, I did come across some great letters from friends in college that I had saved...back when we wrote letters! Priceless!
ReplyDeleteYes, I save just about everything. Occasionally, I will come across something that I cannot imagine why I saved it in the first place. Both of my parents have passed away and for years I saved old bills, etc. of theirs... it was the handwriting that spoke to me. So familiar... But, I am making progress on the clutter & that is a good thing!
ReplyDeletecount me in on the paper hoarding.....uh, i mean collecting.....
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by my blog....great to meet you! :)))
I do like to save everything. Especially something my daughter has written. If my treasures could be displayed in rooms like shown I would be a happy camper. Instead, I don't know what I have saved and where the heck they are!
ReplyDeleteOi? O seu blog é lindo! Fiquei feliz com sua visita! Participe do nosso Sagrado feminino!http://missmagu.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteYour comments are like little notes to treasure....may each of you know that I enjoy reading them and if they were in the form of paper, I would have them displayed, but they are on my screen forever.
ReplyDeletepve
These are great displays. Maybe it's time to start one at my house...
ReplyDeleteI don't save everything but I think it's because I never thought to display it, or honor it, in such creative ways! These pictures are so inspiring! Marija
ReplyDeleteI have kept one of the gray boxes from Charlotte Moss' store (with the white pagoda) and I keep special notes, invitations, clippings in there. It's not organized but I know where it all is!
ReplyDeleteI even post all of the postcards we receive on a cork board in the kitchen. When friends travel, I beg them to send me one...
ReplyDeleteI saved this issue of Elle Decor because I loved these two images so much.
ReplyDeleteEvery year I have to box away the year of artist's notes, cards from students and drawings created by my own children that I have collected and posted on my office wipe board.
I do! I save them all and I love to look back over them from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI do save most notes and all wedding invites and envelopes. I plan on decoupageing a powder room with them one day.
ReplyDeleteI love how those notes are tacked inside the closet door! What a clever, clever idea...XXOO
