I began to think that there can be something good to being cranky, something in a sort of glamourous way, a spunky sort of way. Do you feel that we all just have to be smiling and sweet all the time or is it ok to let our inner crank come out to play? Do you ever let your cranky side come out? (To those of you that are giving up sugar for Lent, I can understand how you might be cranky.) Excuse me while I work on my glamorous cranky wardrobe and replenish the mascara and false eye-lashes. Care to join me on a wild and cranky bend?
*My crankyness is due to the fact that Winter Break - Vacation is over and (today) we are back to school, back to work and a busy routine ! The break was so nice.
I'm totally on-board. If cranky means channeling my inner Bardot, I'm so there!
ReplyDeleteSure, I'd love to...not sure how my Husband would like it...but hey...I'll give it a whirl.
ReplyDeleteI have a friendly exterior...but really I'm a NO BS kind of lady...
Oh, P, I have a GIVEAWAY for an original watercolour...one of mine:-)
Just thought I'd share...

In our house if one get's cranky usually the rest seems to follow suit, results are pretty unpleasent! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI try to find solitude quickly..
I am not so sure about my inner Bardot, maybe I should give it a try!!!
Victoria,
ReplyDeleteI can hardly imagine you cranky without style!
Yes, it is true, cranky breeds cranky so it truly can be a dangerous and slippery slope.

ReplyDeleteI wish my cranky looked like that! I'm with Victoria, when I feel cranky it is best for me to be alone to gather myself before things get out of hand :)

ReplyDeleteMy son has a way of warding off my "crankys." If on on the slippery slope downward, he'll tell me to, "Go take a little time out Miss Crankypants." I find that Mothers, especially have the power to set the tone of the household so I try not to get to crankypants level!
ReplyDeletei'm in! he he xx
ReplyDeleteI am usually accused of looking "serious" rather than cranky. Probably means the same thing though.
ReplyDeleteWe're all entitled to our cranks-right? If this is brought to my attention, I usually hide-out in the bedroom and read for a while.
ReplyDeleteBetter one crank than a houseful.
Enjoy getting back in the swing of things.
I, like Debra usually try to hide out to be quiet. That's the best way for me to handle a cranky mood. Basically, I don't like myself in that state of mind.

ReplyDeleteI am a hot blooded Italian, what you call cranky I call passion! Sometimes, I am not the easiest person to approach. I live life with a litte fire burning inside me. When it comes to love, family, art film, design, politics... I couldn't imagine living any other way.
ReplyDeleteIt's exciting to meet people who have that same fire inside them, expecially artists, it makes for great, highly animated conversation.
I love the Ms Crankypants comment. I get called that all the time.

Cranky Glamour! Maybe you just started a new trend. You could sell it as t-shirts with big pout-ty red lips and sensuous false eyelashes, reading, Cranky Glamour. It'd be hoot... and what fashionably styled woman wouldn't want one for just those so un-perfect days.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I LOVE a good crank!
ReplyDeleteI do not have a poker face. Everything I feel is written right across this old dial of mine. I wish it were different. It gives my family advance warning of when I'm about to blow, so they can hit the road before the blast. Then I'm left cranky & spluttering alone. When its all over, one brother is sent in to get the lay of the land & then texts the safe or not signal to all his brothers. They have me figured. You are entitled to be cranky Patricia, its good for the soul.
