studi-O

I am gathering images for my artist studio addition.

I immediately fell in love with this wonderful space. The light is wonderful and I feel as if all the pieces work. Can you just see Ms.O'Keefe painting here at Ghost Ranch. I already have a wall planned for pure inspiration and the other for light. Most artists covet northern light.
Give me light, it makes me happy.

Congratulations to Kelley from drawworm. Kelley won the J.McLaughlin giveaway!
She does portraits in pencil.
What does or would your artist studio look like?
What would you need for the perfect studio?

  1. Congrats Kelley! What will she choose? I hadn't seen her work-it's lovely. That studio is perfection. I love the idea that you're planning an inspiration wall. I guess this studio would certainly fill the bill for me as well. As long as it's self contained, separate from my home, on the back property and the buliding being simply adorable. You know my love of sweet out-buildings!

  5. The studio actually is a re-creation of Georgia O'Keefe. I spotted it in Architectural Digest.

  8. Congrats to Kelley! And it looks like a really good beginning for a studio, good bones. I am redoing mine in an art deco theme. I sew, craft, paint, design, etc. here. Not sure if you would call it a studio or craft room, but I like the sound of studio better, makes me feel more artistic, lol...

  10. Yahoo... Kelley! Her art is beautiful.

I would love a studio out in the backyard that I could take a short walk to- with lots of windows with a beautiful view outside. Inside would be very simple, white and clutter free so creativity could fill the space, with a sign on the door saying "friends welcome". I look forward to seeing the progress of your studio grow.
    Have a golden weekend! xo

  14. That is fantastic - a new studio. Yay for you! Cool white walls, minimal decoration, maybe a little fridge for drinks! My workroom has lots of closed door cabinets, also in white, so I don't get distracted.

  15. How beautiful! I am not an artist but I would love to have my own room to keep all of "my stuff" organized... gifts, gift wrap, photo albums, stationary, etc. I would make it bright, cheery, and feminine.

  17. Congratulations Kelley. She does beautiful work I checked her blog. My studio would have lots of shelves for books, my computer, great writing pens, windows looking out on the ocean and a publisher waiting for my manuscript.

  19. How fun! We just went to Florida too, it was cool but sunny and the ripe citrus was perfect for beating the winter blues...
