all is calm

One of the best things about being an illustrator of client's holiday greeting cards are getting the actual card in the mail. There is a certain sense of "all is calm" in knowing that my art has a way of making things bright in each greeting. My client sent me several photos to work from and I just could not resist the urge to illustrate this charming home all lit up for a silent night.
But wait a minute, remember these fine four legged creatures, they live in that house, see them sneaking a peek out the windows upstairs to see if Santa has anything in store for them. I imagine a home full of spirit and magic and all things bright!

The house looks beautiful. It really must be thrilling to see your work on greeting cards, and knowing that they're being sent out to loved ones all over!

A wonderful Christmas house. I love the faces of the dogs in the upstairs windows - that made me laugh! Alittle whimsy never hurt anyone.

Lovely my friend! I think I can hear all the excitement in the house with the 3 little pups running around barking hoping Santa will leave them some treats, a plush toy or two, maybe a new collar or another warm bed.

Ahhh... I sure miss how Kelly would sniff every box that came through the door or be snooping under the tree smelling to see if any of the boxes under the tree are hers.

Thanks my friend! xo

Well, Patricia, you have given me an idea for next year! Could we add my Christmas wreaths to my painting?

What is it about that style of home that makes it seem so inviting? Your work brings out all the loveliness of the dogs and home.

Patricia,

Love your artwork. Just can't decide what I want you to do for me. Do you ever do children? I've been thinking maybe something of my Lucy, fun and funky.

Hope all is well.

Oh, go back to Ragland Hill today for your daily infusion of green. I'd like to know if you like the brighter hues or today's better. I love green too.

What a thrill as an illustrator it must be to create cards that will be sent to so many places to so many people to brighten their holiday. These two examples are tremendous. Happiest of weeks to you Patricia x

Love the illustrations! Maggie (our mutt)...who is usually very calm and bright...started to eat the tree skirt last night. Not chew; actually EAT. Not sure what that's all about...maybe she's trying to tell us she's hungry. Or jealous that we were eating cookies and she wasn't. ;-)

Your work often inspires me! I love to look at your illustrations of a home's exterior and think about what I like and how I can incorporate those features in to a house remodel that looms on the back burner.
