self-talk

Did you know that flowers rarely pollinate without "selfing?" This November, I hope each of you set aside that negative self talk that sabotages your pollination process. Go on and "self-talk" yourself, but in a positive way. Be aware of that negative talker who enters uninvited and tries to determine or monopolize your attempts to succeed.

Think of yourself like a beautiful flower, selfing, pollinating goodness as you reach your goals this November. Start a positive self-talk now. You know all you really need is to listen to your self-talk it up! I know you can do it. Did I just hear your self cheer for you?

Women are the worst at this - we tend to underestimate our abilities, while men (no surprise!) overestimate. Thanks for the reminder :)

Love those words!
I try to follow them and try to instill that feeling in my children too!

Thank you, Patricia!

You are such a motivator, P. I love your way of reaching out to those around you. You are a person with a community heart, and that's a rare and wonderful thing.

I needed to hear this; it's so easy to listen to the negative within sometimes. I agree with Victoria's sentiment, as well as "The Wanderers' Daughter"! Thank you Patricia.

My Mother always would say- 'it takes so much more thought and energy to be negative than to be positive'. The older I get, the more I see the truth in her words.
I wonderful way to start our new month, wouldn't you say?

Patricia, I really need this right now. An art event .....huge, that I was to be in has been canceled. This was a Holiday Event, and of course I have been preparing. I know that now I have time to regroup and another wonderful opportunity will take it's place.

This is something I've been very intentional about, lately. I plan on posting about this subject too. We are so quick to put ourselves down. What's up with that? Last month I made a commitment not to allow it anymore. No more bad self talk, and if you're hanging out with me, you can't do it, either. So there.

Very good advice coming on the heels of the November post. I'm feeling very creative and confided in ADG about a(nother) book project that I would like to undertake.

The toughest part is finishing one before embarking on another.

I love it! I DO want to be a self-pollinating goddess! (That should be the title of your memoirs -- The Self-Pollinating Goddess ;-)

Self-talk is a tool, like a knife. It can be used for good or bad. I've just started a site about how bad we tend to be:
