Lobster Pot Cashmere Yarn from purl soho,
Lobster Pot cashmere in a lovely wintry white
It would be my modern day "ruff"
Knitting with my circular needles which I refer to as "idiot's delight." A soft cozy scarf, no ends, just a loose circle to slip on and go places. Infinity and beyond. Do you have an infinity scarf?

I just took knitting back up again, so I have to work my way up to the circular needles. After this post, I hope to be there soon because the infinite scarf is calling my name!
Yes I have one and I love it! I want one in every color!
Purl Soho. What a terrific shop. They were so patient with my dear friend & my then-four year old as they were the "kids let loose in the [eye] candy shop."
You lucky thing! I love them, the longer the better so you can twist and turn to either pull up and use as a combo hat/scarf..think Audrey Hepburn or just worn loosely with a really fun pin to pull it together. I also have one in a really light possum fur, a popular choice in New Zealand. I love the fact that you are making it!
Yes I have an infinity scarf and I use the scarf a lot! I would have some more in other colours! No it is a black one and matches with a lot of colours.

Mel-
please do not shy away from circulars!
I love working with them, and your little gal will love hats and knitting too -

Frau-
I spotted a lovely purple yarn which I am thinking about too.

Oh, when were you there?
I am so close to the city!
Any chance to go to Purl, I am in!

Jeanne-
I am going to look for a furry yarn now!

I love black - however gray is gaining on me...
that said, a pop of color is like a rare gem!

Yes, and it's raspberry in color. It pops with all basic colors.
I also like a lighter weight scarf to wear inside my jacket or coat. It's a sophisticated look. Think Kathryn Hepburn.
I think a scarf is a very fun item to wear; so many options.
i keep hearing about the infinity scarf - and lobster pot is my absolute favorite - I have 2 neck warmers made from lobster pot and wear them all winter long - both indoors and outdoors
I love them. Oprah just showed these on her show yesterday. I think I may try crocheting one. If I come to the city can we go yarn shopping? I love that the name of the yarn shop is Lobster Pot!
Apologies! With less than a cup of coffee-I read it incorrectly. The YARN is called Lobster Pot not the shop!!! I thought that was a funny little name for a yarn shop!
You're lucky you can knit. It's the one thing I tried an failed miserably at. I just couldn't keep the tension even. That's probably why I'm a better cook than I am a baker. I don't have to be precise..
I too love the cashmere scarfs and wear them often.
I wish I could knit, as, no I do not have an infinity scarf, and how perfect for this weather!
Oh what a terrific idea --- I would love to make one for me and a few for gifts!! If I can knit, do you think I can tackle the circulars??? Do you have a pattern or just keep knitting until done? I also like Debra's idea of trying a crocheted one. Of course the cashmere is what makes these ever so dreamy!

I found a pattern on Purl Soho's blog last year and my mother made one for everyone in cashmere. They are the best!
I am totally going to need to try this! Heading to NYC next week, so a stop at Purl Soho may be in order.
As for circulars, USE THEM! It's soooo simple. I use mine for everything, including straight knitting. I have the kit with the interchangable tips and it's awesome!
Oh gosh. That is fantastic. I want one!
Thanks "a" -- I think I found the pattern you referenced. And, thanks Meg for the encouragement that I can conquer the circular needles.

it looks so gorgeous I could just dive straight in !
No, but I would love one too, xv.
I don't have an infinity scarf but you are convincing me that I need one out of cashmere - so yummy!
Do you get the Boden catalog? I received mine yesterday and they had illustrations in the beginning showing outfits. My first thought...they should meet PVE and have her do their illustrations! Yours are much more appealing.
I'm crazy for it. I want one so bad now.
Very nice. I have one and love it. xoxo
Lovely, would so wrap myself in a little bit of cashmere! Since I do not have one...
I might have to try my rusty knitting knowledge...
There must be the Idiot's guide to knitting somewhere...
This is the first I've heard of the infinity scarf. I use to love to knit, maybe it's about time I learn to knit my own. Great inspiration PVE xx

Love the scarf. Went into Manhattan to visit my son at FIT and happened upon the 8th Ave steet fair...they had gorgeous chashmere scarves like these for a fraction and I bought 5 in a variety of colors--they go with everything!
Burberry had an amazing one-- not sure I'm up for the investment but might be just the thing with my red wellies. Great idea to showcase this nifty fashion accessory!
Don't you just love those circular needles?? I am knitting cowls like crazy. So soft, so gorgeous! So much fun. Have you seen The Loopy Ewe's website?? You'll lose your mind!
Pamela,
Oh I shall take a gander - love to see your scarves.

I LOVE this! My mother knits all the time, lucky me. She taught me how, now I just need to find time to do it! :)
Kelsey,
Making time to knit works better than finding time.
Schedule 15 minutes a day.
See you on the 6th?

I so wish i could knit. This would make such a perfect winter staple.
