be a L-O-V-E

All we really need is L-O-V-E.  In New York City, this iconic sculpture (by Robert Indiana) stands on Sixth Avenue while pedestrians scurry by.  While in the city, my daughter and her friend decided it would be fun to have a photo taken in between the V and the E.  I have always loved this statue, the vivid red and the electric blue.  Be a love and tell me what are you in love with today?

I am in LOVE with the Rosario Iris flowers that are beginning to bloom in my garden, just yesterday. I planted them because my Father's name was Rosario; I love that name, as I love him. They are a vibrant purple and bright bright yellow - nature in its glory!
I've also liked that LOVE statue. Your daughter and friend look very cute!

Purple,
I knew that you would love an Iris!
I love that name "Rosario" and I worked with a wonderful man named Rosario. He was a pattern maker and each year on the Monday following Palm Sunday he would leave me a small piece of "palm" -
To me it was a symbol of his love for everyone. He left each person a small piece of palm.
Today, I love that it is Monday, and looks like a glorious day. I am ready to work!

Today i'm in love with the way the sunlight is striking my daughter's room, rendering it so pink & glowy that the neighbors might think we're being held hostage by Polly Pocket, Hannah Montana, & Hello Kitty. ;-)

I'm in love with the rain today. I woke up to a tremendous thunderstorm... it made me want to just lie in bed with my husband and listen to it storm. I love the occasional rainy day.

I love sleeping with my windows open. Serene and calming...the best way to sleep.

And, that stature always reminds me of the song "Love Today" by Mika.

I love it too. Here is the link:

I am in love with my beautiful husband! We were both widowed by cancer in middle age and my daughter introduced us before going off to her freshman year at Harvard. We had our first date about two years ago and have been together everyday since! There's never been a moment of tension between us and we are so ridiculously suited to each other that we even discovered we have the same eyeglass prescription!! We celebrate 1 year of wedded BLISS this weekend with a trip to Boston. I love my husband...

Aw, what a cute picture! Today I'm in love with the way the city air has that summer smell to it. I know that sounds weird, but the city smells different when the weather is nice out, and I love it!

Can you believe I saw a clerk in Anthropologie with this tatooed in the middle of her back between her shoulder blades.

All I can say is, "It'll be there when she's 80!"

I really like your blog I stumbled across it via a bloomsbury life.
Last Autumn I saw another version of Robert Indiana's LOVE sculpture at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire Uk (where they filmed The Duchess).
Bi- anually Sotherbys hold a very impressive auction of contemporary sculptures and use the gardens at Chatsworth to display them.
In recent years works by Damien Hirst, Antony Gormley, Salvador DalÍ and Henry Moore have been included in the sales.
I have a picture of my own daughters doing a similar thing to yours but with a very different background to NYC!
