tender morning journal

The tender mornings are a time to wake with the rising of the sun and greet the day with my journal and write as well as draw my thoughts and dreams here.  I have been reading "Write it Down, Make it Happen"- and highly recommend reading this and writing or drawing your thoughts, fears and hopes down.  How many of you keep a journal and when do you write or draw your dreams down on paper.  What is your favorite journal.  My journal collection seems to be growing however, nothing beats the Moleskine journals.  There are a few other that I love too.

I do keep something weekly (notes from church) but not daily anymore. I think I need to.

I just bought a new moleskin planner for 2009...Love it.

Recently, I took a few old journals out of my hope chest to scan through...boy I felt for that 20 year old, with no idea about life, or what is to happen...kinda sad I thought, but I no longer question my maturity ! :) Now I'm feeling fine about where I am...even excited!

I don't keep an official journal, but I consider my blog a pictorial journal of sorts -it's what is interesting me at any given time. Like a journal, it's fun to go back through it and see what I was thinking of at any given time!

You raise such a good point, Patricia. I really need to keep making the effort to organize my days better. I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Ugh. Carving out quiet time to gather our thoughts and reflect is so important for the soul. A luxury I'm sad to say I no longer have. You've inspired me to push hard to get it back!

I have gotten away from doing this, although I will sometimes do a sketch before a painting. I used to journal every day. It is an inspiring way to rejuveate and relax at the same time.

You have my attention on this book. I will pick it up this weekend. I use to keep daily writing, but now only write things down here and there. A wonderful idea I need to bring back to the front burner. Wee hours are my favorite time of day.
Have a golden day my friend!

P.S. Thank you!

I have a lapsed gratitude journal. I do think it is a good practice and plan to get back to it.

I carry a moleskine in my bag to jot down ideas in. I'm terrible about journaling. The book you've mentioned sounds interesting!

What juice recipe(s) do you use? (Saw your comment on MCM's site. I have a juice but no idea what to do with it.)

I would probably LOVE to read that. It sounds just like me. I make a daily to-do list (in the morning) & I've also started making random journal entries in that same to-do list notebook. I love it.

Patricia~ I'm in the middle of the book and I'm getting so much out of it.
I keep a daily calendar for appointments, lists etc. and then I have a journal that I write in each day, and I make quick sketches for possible painting ideas... I have several from years past. It's fun to look back and see what I've accomplished... and what I haven't!

I was a daily journaler for years and now I'm out of the habit. I need to slip back into it, with you for inspiration.

I love your beautiful watercolour of journaling moments. I've tried so many times to keep a personal journal, but found more luck journaling on my children - my thoughts about them and a record of the sweet things they say and do.

I've had a wing ding of a few weeks, so my journal would *not* be a very happy pretty one like yours. ;-) I agree with ArchitectDesign -- in a way my blog has become my journal. I wish I could devote a little more time to it...As I would with a journal. Working on work/life balance is going to be a BIGGIE for me this year!

I have been keeping journals since 9th grade. Lately I haven't been so consistent in keeping up but I need to work on that this year.. I love writing and just sorting out my thoughts! Love the drawing! Hope you are having a fabulous week!
