send in the clowns

"Isn't it rich,
are we a pair,
me here at last on the ground,
you in mid-air"

Sung by one of my favorite singers, Sarah Vaughan.  A week of sadness, the loss of the magazine Domino and more lay-offs, we need some music, some laughter - time to send in the clowns.   I would have added this song, but my technical abilities lack, I know, "Isn't it queer." I want to go to the Carlisle and have a Manhattan and hear this song.  Do you think it is time to send in the clowns?  What are you listening to or laughing about?

I was just reading about Ford, Caterpillar, and more unemployment rates in the paper...sigh. I agree - Sarah V, send in the clowns! You provided a ray of sunshine though. I looked at Domino magazine online and of course loved it! I usually hop on the "band wagon" a few years too late -ha! Walking along Chicago's waterfront in Spring are happy moments, & I can't wait to take my children in a few months.

I'm smiling because for the first time yesterday, I felt hopeful that spring would come. Not sure how long this feeling will last, but I'll take it for now.

Patricia

Watching 60 minutes last week regarding layoffs in the mid west heightened my concern...they say we aren't really "seeing" it in NY yet as it is affecting other parts of the country in a worse manner!

Bye, Domino!

just shows that money can't buy love.
I have always loved the way her photos are a portrayal of what I call "money malfunction"

Give me some Sarah, Ella and Blossom Deary. I love jazz vocalists. I think that is how I'll ride out the wave of bad news.

What's keeping me laughing? The preview of the 1 hour The Office that is going to air after the super bowl! Can't wait for the full episode.

I love all music and most of all my love's guitar playing.

Yes we need to send in the clowns! It is sad to hear daily people losing their jobs and homes.

All my best and a brighter tomorrow. xoxo

Actually, Blagojevich's hubris is making me chuckle a bit these days. :-)

When I was a kid my mother used to listen to the Helen Reddy version OVER and OVER again. Gosh, I had completely forgotten about that! Remembering it makes me smile.

Inspiring, upbeat or calming music, like by Jane Monheit, also love watching The Office, Scrubs, and Monk for a good grin!
