monday motivation - the joy of apples

"Like golden apples in silver settings are words spoken at the proper time." (Proverbs 25:11)

Yesterday morning, I gathered up these apples from my apple tree and thought about the joy of apples.
An apple a day keeps the Doctor away, an apple in a lunch box, or gifted to a teacher or friend.
A good apple is very much like a compliment which brings joy to whom it is given.

Now on this monday, I am baking a French Apple Cake  adapted from
Around my French Country Table by Dorie Greenspan and David Lebovitz.

Give three compliments every day and feel the joy of the Autumn season.
Do apples bring you joy?

  1. So glad to see you blogging again, Patricia! Nothing says fall like apples.

When I was in fifth grade, I took a teacher an apple once. But I kind of had a crush on her, so I don't know if it really counts. :)

  9. Apples represent so much of our lives now that your great post makes me think how. Bringing an apple to a favorite teacher, bobbing for apples as a child & making caramel apples with my children; then there is the apple pie mom baked to her wonderful apple cake with thick icing. I grew up in Washington State and we are famous for our incredibly tasty apples. They represent home to me. You are right Patricia, apples do represent joy!
