You may or may not find this post motivational however, it has everything to do with mouthing off.
This image is one of my favorites, I feel that this woman is ready to give someone a mouthful.
When was the last time you gave someone a mouthful? Did you find it liberating? Did it have to do with standing up for yourself?
Spending lots of time in the hospital has left me with a mouthful.
I feel our health care system is in pretty rough shape.
The first meal they gave my daughter was "chicken nuggets and french fries."
I of course had a mouthful to say about that. Do you stand up and give mouthfuls when you see things that are clearly wrong and need change. Therein lies my motivation. Stand up when you see something wrong, even if it involves giving a mouthful in order to make it better.

good grief....I guess they want to make sure you're a return costumer...to the cardio ward with clogged arteries. Hope she is recovering...despite the nuggets.
My mouthful is nearly every company I do business with needs motivation. It is so simple to do something and do it right, but I seem to find the people that will trip over themselves to not follow through with what they say they will do, never return phone calls, and have no accountability. There is my mouthful for today :) -Tonya
One of the problems in the country is what you point out, indifference. Luckily I live in a small burg and if I would of had a poor stay like you are pointing out I would of said a mouthful to the department heads. Largess separates so many people with what is going on, there are so many layers to wade through.
I would visit the dietary office and the hospital administration.
Prayers for recovery.
I could not agree more. And I'm not afraid to give a mouthful when it's warranted.
And good for you for saying something. Find another (better) hospital? Or bring in her meals. Seems ridiculous but that is really bad. Hope she's on the mend!
I hope that your daughter is on the mend! It's horrible that a hospital would serve such an unhealthy meal. Sending well wishes...xoxoTrina
I try to be careful with my words ... but boy would I have said something about that! You have got to be kidding! IN A HOSPITAL - geez.
You had every single right to have a mouthful when your daughter was served a high fat, high sodium piece of fake chicken.
There are occasions when I do have a mouthful, and I say it as constructively as I can.
Definitely dish it when it needs to be dished.
When I was the caretaker when my mother had her breast cancer surgery, I became known as "The Talking Woman." If you don't stand up for yourself and the people you love, who will?
100% SPOT ON!!!!!! We are supposed to have the "best" health care in the world. Give me Germany or France any day...nutrition (at least 2000 years of wisdom attest to this) is the key to health and recovery. French Fries--any potatoes-- will produce intestinal distress and chicken nuggets are only toxic filler.......GO GET THEM PATRICIA!!!

Sounds real healthy. Just read this weeks Time about how they charge for hospital stays. It pays to check the bill closely!
We have a dreadful health care system compared to much of the world. France is always rated at the top, we are many places below.
Also just read the piece in the NY Times. Despite their claims, hospitals are making big money and paying out huge 1 Million + salaries.
Your daughter is lucky to have you with her! Best
wishes for her recovery.
I was specifying some appliances for a project last week and I was speechless that one of the gas range/ovens I came across had this at the very top of its features list "Chicken Nugget Button - for perfectly browned, crisp nuggets every time". Seriously!!? Apparantly there are enough people eating these on a regular basis they are making ovens with a pre-set nugget button?? And hospitals are serving them to patients? Good for you for speaking up. Wishing all the best for your daughter. ~ C
I hope your daughter is feeling better soon! So glad you were there to stand up and hold the hospital accountable. With all of the science and peer-reviewed literature we have that shows us what kind of food really IS good for us, you were 100% right to say something.
Every ill person needs an avocate, it makes no difference the age, in our health care system - you were that person for your daughter. Speak your mind girlfriend! Indeed chicken nuggets???? xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
I do know that most children would be happy with that meal yet I do know that after not eating for nearly a week, that was not the right choice. It just does not sit right for a hospital to not start by giving healthy meals or at least the meal of someone just starting out soft mashed fruits or dry toast.
I am planning on crafting a letter to many on this issue that I think could use their attention.

Funny you mention this! I was in the ER last week and they kept offering us Cokes and Sprites. How about just water? Or something that isn't filled with empty calories, tons of chemicals, and more sugar than anyone needs in one sitting?!?! SO frustrating.
