quietude

How is your attitude today?
Does it need some quietude?

Our attitudes can be altered by time spent enjoying moments of peace.
Take some time today and honor silence.  I often crave calm quiet time.
Turn everything off.
Take some time to hear the silence of the season, after all that holiday noise.

Do you enjoy the calm of January?

  1. I do as long as there is some sun shinning I'm good with January! It's the dark gray January that I have issues with. January is my fresh start...purge,organize kick off the year right month!

  2. Patricia,
I agree with Frau. I am fine in January. To me, February seems to never end.

  5. I love January, mainly because it still gets dark early and I love going for long walks in the dark! There's one neighbourhood in my city that I particularly love - it's full of beautiful old houses (some could even be considered mansions), dark, tree-lined streets and then, suddenly, the ocean. Fewer people are out walking when it's dark, so I get to enjoy the amazing peace and quiet.

  6. I only wish it WERE quiet:). We're having a lot of rain, and while I enjoy the rain and welcome it, it's just not a quiet experience.

  8. I remember years ago a friend of mine told me that January was her favorite month. She's the mother of six wonderful children. For way too many years I am embarrassed to say that I didn't get that...now I do. I ,ove the quiet of January.

  9. Hmmm. Living in SC, I love the long rainy days of winter. But lately, I need to remember to relish the quiet instead of filling it up. Need to get back to my usual morning meditation of reading The Tao.
    Thanks for the push.
