to market

I am heading out the door to our local farmer's market in Hastings-on-Hudson for some fresh goodies.  I was away last week, I spotted the loveliest fresh market stand on Nantucket and I thought about all the delightful joys of summer.  Fresh blueberries, Lobsters, corn on the cob and time to be near the water.

Enjoy the freshness that Summer time offers at your local market.  Do you have a local market you love to load up on fresh goodies.

  6. We have the best markets all summer long but that's one of the perks of the country. I have a garden too but it's pretty well done for the season. Now lobster that's something can get heavy into!

  8. It's what I dream about all winter... farmer's market tomatoes, flowers, and fresh vegetables and fruit! It's such an inspiring place and I don't take it for granted in the summer.. Home grown tomato sandwiches - doesn't get much better than that!

  11. I love farmers markets too. In Sydney they move around so that everyone gets the chance to buy fresh produce at least once a week, isn't it fantastic? Hope you are well Patricia :)

  13. just returned from a trip to Beaufort, SC and was mesmerized by the local shop Lowcountry Produce. The interior the perfect setting for their fresh, local products. Hope you found some late summer goodies at your market...sure you looked as chic as the lady in your painting

  14. We have a market that runs every Saturday from April to October, and sometimes Wednesday evenings. The offerings are always great, there's often live music, and it has the feel of a social happening. Great fun, and a nice way to support sustainable food.
